I am Arsenal, mid-way through the second season. My tactic as a whole is great, I haven't conceded in more than 15 games and I am scoring, but I spent quite a bit to bring Falcao to the Emirates, and with my other tactic, he performed well as part of a 2/sometimes 3 striker formation.

But since changing to a 1-striker formation, he hasn't been performing well. The formation is basically a mix between a 4-2-3-1 and a 4-4-1-1. And it doesn't seem like he is just not doing well with the ball, it is that he very rarely gets the ball (He normally gets the least touches apart from my GK and my 2 CB's!)

So what role should I play Falcao, and what else should I do to get him performing?

Hes scoring for fun in my save as a poacher or CF support

51 in 48 matches (41 league goals, 10 CL goals) first season and 23 in 19 second season (only in late November), being played as a lone striker - poacher.

I don't mean to sound rude, but people simply pointing out to me how many goals he scored etc. isn't really helping me, or answering my question.

Could I perhaps see a screenshot of the player-instruction and team instructions too? I want to find out how people are getting the ball to him, what support people are giving him, etc. :)

he's backup to rodrigo in my chelsea save. i just cant afford to give falcao a run in the team because he's a constant let down. if he's in the 6 yard box he's deadly, but he keeps shooting from range regardless of what i tell him and he misses alot. i've tried poacher, complete forward, adv forward and he seems to play the same with everyone.

got jovetic as backup aswell and he is properly deadly. am actually considering selling falcao but he is handy as a sub.

Exactly the same as what he does for me! I keep giving him through balls, he'll leave the defender behind then just shoot barely in the final third! Unfortunatly, I can't afford a new player at the moment, as apart from the first season I wan't to make profits (Not the first season as I needed quite alot of new players :D )

This would be down to his 'tries first time shots' trait.

I would suggest if playing a 4-4-1-1, have two ball-winning/defensive central midfielders and a talented creative attacking midfielder and set him as playmaker. This way the two centre mids will win the ball and immediately try to offload it to the CAM who should be able to pick out Falcao. I have my wingers set to dribble often and cross sometimes, with both to cut inside, meaning they get into the box before knocking a ball across the six-yard box. Being in the Championship some of my centre-forwards don't always score but it's worth a try for better teams I reckon.

Can't believe I didn't notice he had that! I thought I had checked, but I probably just looked for the long shots PPM. Thanks, trying to get him to unlearn it now, my AssMan says he doesn't think he will though :/

falcao plays like absolute **** against any top team. given up on starting him in any big games, i end up subbing him off every single time.

i play the same formation as the second post in the thread and falcao is deadly, i set the two wide men to inside forwards and tell them to cross from the byline where possible, it leaves falcao only able to shoot inside the box as he doesn't get a great deal of supply outside it. i use him as a poacher with no changes to his instructions. i also play an advanced playmaker behind him with the two central midfielders acting as a box to box support and a centre mid defensive mentality. quick wingers who can cross and finish means all 3 in that front line will hit 10+ every season for a top 6 side. i had danny graham, demba ba, falcao, andre schurle, suarez and borini for liverpool rotating and all scored double figures

he bagged 4 for me in a crunch games against chelsea after about 7 games at the club so couldn't disagree more, maybe your tactics weren't up to scratch?

dunno hes got higher than 1:1 goals to apps ratio overall but he almost always has the lowest rating in the team during big games. maybe the players around him struggle against top teams so he doesn't get service or something, but i've also seen him miss quite a few sitters in finals or against top 3 teams when i would expect someone like falcao to at least get the shot on target during these key games.

it actually really riles me up when falcao misses like that and then 1 minute later some other player on the other team with half of his shooting capability easily slots in the next chance he gets. its usually after times like those when i'll sub him off rofl

I bought him for my. Chelsea save he got off to a great start and the Jst stopped scoring after about 15 game, still not managed to get him going again

brought him for £30 mil in jan window for spurs, not been amazing, really tempted to sell him, and just carry on with welbeck who how we say has been alot better
