Getting the best out of Klass-Jan Huntelaar?

On my Real Madrid save, I cannot get Huntelaar to perform. I am in the first season, playing a 4-3-3 formation. I am using him as a target man and he is holding up the ball. What can I do (maybe in terms of instructions or formation) can I do to make him perform?

try setting his playing instructions to the default target man settings for a while!
they are quite underrated! give it a go and give him time!
