BREAKING NEWS: REMI GARDE SACKED
After an amazing nine days in-charge of French giants Olympique Lyonnais Remi Garde was sacked by chairman Jean-Michel Aulas for an apparent "lack of confidence among the players in the dressing room". The popular assistant manager took the managers post at Lyon after Claude Puel left the club after helping guide Les Gones to Ligue 1 titles in the 03/04 season and 04/05 seasons. The club had this to say on the matter:
"We wish Remi the best of luck in the future and thank him for the commitment to the club he has shown over the past eight years. Regrettably confidence in the dressing room has been low as the team feel that a more experienced manager is needed in order for the club to progress to new heights."
The front-runners for the Lyon job are thought to be France coach Laurent Blanc and Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.
