Giggs opens door to Wales return, Good thing he isn't a girl

Giggs has said he will consider coming out of international retirement to fill the gap left by injured Aaron Ramsey.

With all due respect you got no clue on this.He was never eligible for England. He was born to Welsh parents and has no connection with England. He played for Some England school doesnt make him English. He was Eligible for Wales only and played for them.

To put it even simpler, He was never eligible for England.

Are you retarded? He's lived in Manchester pretty much his entire life. Therefore he was eligible for England..
 
He was able to play for England, he simply didn't expect that he'd reach the heights he has today and thought he'd get more of a chance of having a pop at getting into the Wales team rather than the English one..

ive heard a few times on the tv he had either an english dad or english mum cant remember which one though

Contrary to popular belief, he was never eligible for the full England team (eligibility at the schoolboy level depends solely upon the location of the school)[36] he has stated that he would have chosen to play for Wales anyway. He was however eligible to play for Sierra Leone, through his paternal grandfather. When he made his international debut in 1991, he broke the record as the youngest debutant for Wales and held it for some seven years when it was broken by Ryan Green in June 1998.[37] He went on to win 64 caps, and scored twelve goals for the Welsh national team between 1991 and 2007. He was appointed captain of Wales in 2004.


He was born in Wales, his parents were both Welsh. He could not have played international football for any country other than Wales.

The confusion arises because he played for an England Schoolboys team. England Schoolboys select from all English schools, irrespective of the nationality of the boys concerned.

Giggs went to school in Manchester, so was eligible for England Schools' teams, but not for England full internationals

This is one of the reply for thinking Giggs could have played for England. It was in BBC site.

Ryan Giggs is Welsh, he was born in Wales; his parents are Welsh; none of his grandparents were English - he was NEVER qualified to play for England, there was NEVER any question of him playing, or wanting to play for England.

I believe the confusion arose due to the fact that he played for England Schoolboys.
The reason for this was that the qualificication for that team was not one of national origin, but simply one of being in attendance at an English school, which Giggs was at that time.

But he could of gained enlgish nationality? Like Almunia for example?
