Given up on Liverpool

I have tried Liverpool like 5 times and just can't get anything right.

Tactics never work with Liverpool, never take chances and always leak goals. So frustrating. I have tried the 4-5-1/4-2-3-1 tactics i used in my Newcastle and Everton saves where i finished 4th but no that doesn't work either.

Any advice on Liverpool people?
 
Yeah just don't bother with them. I have tried countless times with Liverpool and no matter how much analysis and effort i put in nothing works. About 8 attempts and ive won nothing and been sacked countless times.
 
They're probably one of the toughest teams to play as on FM14 in terms of expectations vs squad talent. Next year it should be easier though!
 
Do you sign a lot of players? I find that is a massive problem when it comes to Liverpool, with a fair few signings arriving during the summer, more players that are arriving could make the team just a bunch of individuals. If so maybe look at training between a high tactic to get used to your formations and team cohesion to get used to each other. Seemed to work for me throughout the first season and guided them to a champions league spot, although a lot of my games we're ground out 1-0 victories.
 
I have same problem whenever I manage leeds...I kno I won't challenge the top spots but at least be on or around the playoffs...but I am always sacked by December
 
I won the league first season with Liverpool (First time I have ever done so with anyone who wasn't really expected to win it)

My advice is to keep the majority of the players there for the first season. The only players I brought in first season were Hughes and Vietto. Played a simple controlling tactic, hassling the opponents then getting it directly into the box. This is how I lined up if I remember rightly.

Suarez (Complete Forward)
Coutinho (IF Support) - Hughes (AP Attack) - Sterling (W Attack)
Henderson (BBM Support) - Leiva (BWM Defend)
Enrique (CWB) - Agger - Skrtel - Johnson (CWB)

Basically, I played all the players in their favourite positions in their favourite role (Except Coutinho who played amazing LW cutting in and assiting left right and centre). Obviously you have players on the bench like Gerrard, Allen, Sturridge and Luis Alberto (some what of a super sub) who give you excellent strength in depth.
 
I will give them one last night. I don't sell anybody and sign 2 players at most.

What a find difficult aswell is getting tactics spot on during pre season. Also playing the big teams away.
 
Try LFCMarshall update. Lpool doing great in both saves i had with that update.
 
You should have different tactics for home games and away games. And arrange pre-season friendlies against lower tier teams to boost your team morale
 
I play a deep 4-2-3-1 with Liverpool - just finished by 3rd season and won every comp.

Will post screen shots up tonight if helpful...

James Ward Prowse and Andrew Ayew are my best two signings. Ayew first season release clause ?16.5M I think? Now worth over 40M.

JWP signed for 8M when Soton got relegated to the Championship. Most assits and highest rating in league last 2 seasons, guys insane!
 
Got it working with Liverpool. Top with 26pts after 10 games
 
For 30m (paid over several seasons) you can get Luke Shaw in first transfer window ,does great as a LB and you can use him as a winger.Great wonderkid..

Apparently i can't post links here - just google " heijder tactic " .It's great for LFC - Poor defence but attack is so good its well worth it.
 
Just started a new game with Liverpool last night (first one messed up...and second) so hoping this one more successful. I've gone for a Fluid Attaching 4-1-2-2-1, playing with an Enganche and Shadow Striker behind a Poacher. I loaned out all the youngsters bar Alberto because nobody wanted him (will use when I can, he is a very useful player) and sold Enrique (9.75 to Spartak Moscow) as in the past games I've attempted he never performed. I brought in several players to support the formation I've gone with, Neil Taylor (4.4), Manuel Pasquale (1.2), Blaise Matuidi (3.7), Mohamed Diame (3.5), Vurnon Anita (4.6) and Fabio Quagliarella (Loan).

Will show screenshot later of tactic and instructions, in work atm! But mind is completely on FM!

I picked him up for 16M when Soton got relegated.
