I play fm 2010 on my laptop and the matchday graphics are pretty apalling, so bad infact i normally play them on 2D.

This might be a stupid question, but if I bought a graphics card and installed that, would it improve matchday graphics??

Yes... unless it's not a GPU problem.

Take a screenie and show us the exact extent of it.

the fm10 3d graphics are awful anyway.

Being inexperienced with laptops and graphics cards, is it possible to get a new (and better) graphics card for my laptop when it's current one is an integrated graphics card? I'm not really sure if it's possible to replace the integrated one but if anyone could help with this it'd be much appreciated.

You can't upgrade a graphics card on a laptop (well you can but it's horribly expensive and difficult to source parts.)

Exactly. Also, the difference between before and after would be minuscule.
