MAKING GRASSHOPPERS A EUROPEAN GIANT

View attachment 270130

Roy Hodgson steps down from England and takes the Grasshoppers job to try and better his previous stint as manager.

CLUB OVERVIEW

View attachment 270128

Grasshoppers are already in the Champions League however the first task is to become the best team in the Swiss League by overcoming Swiss giants Basel. The youth and training facilities are very good which will come in very handy when training our young players.

CLUB HISTORY

View attachment 270127

View attachment 270126

Grasshoppers were the first team to enter the Champions League in Switzerland and although they didn't win a game in the group stage they still made a good name for themselves.

KEY PLAYERS

View attachment 270125

Going off assistant reports this guy is one of our best players. He has been at Grasshoppers for his whole career apart from one season when he went to another club on a free transfer.

View attachment 270124

Davari is by far the best GK at the club and will be my starter for the first season at least.

View attachment 270123

Dabbur has the potential to be one of the best strikers in the league however he still has some work to do.

MY AIMS FOR THIS SAVE

Become a dominant force in the Swiss League.

Win a European trophy.

Sign and develop some of the best young players that this league will ever see.

Expand or build a new stadium.

Any tips on how to make my posts better or more appealing are welcome.

Good luck with this. Great club with a great history. Hopefully can discover a young Wynton Rufer to to lead the line.

PRE SEASON

I was only given 110k and hardly any wage budget so the squad that I have at the moment will have to make do for the first season. I have made one signing which will be shown below.

View attachment 270018

Only a LB has came in, this was because we only had one LB and I did not have any more wage budget to bring anyone else in. I tried to offload a few players but most of them were not getting offers despite me lowering their asking price below their value.

View attachment 270017

Alvarez looks like a very good LB and will be my first choice for the season.

FRIENDLIES

View attachment 270016

Nothing to sing or dance about however I am not looking into this too much because my assistant took control of every game. The start of the league season is how I will analyse the squad and how well the tactic is working.

JULY FIXTURES

View attachment 269989

A great way to start off the season with a huge win against Sion. We dominated from start to finish and fully deserved the win.

View attachment 269988

We then had a bore draw against St. Gallen and with both teams having chances it could have been anyone's game.

View attachment 269987

Totally outplayed against Lille and we have it all to do in the second leg if we want to qualify.

LEAGUE TABLE

View attachment 269986

Nothing really to say about the league table as expected Young Boys and Basel getting off to great starts and we follow just behind them remaining unbeaten.

NEXT MONTH

View attachment 269984

Quite a tough month as we play both Basel and Young Boys away from home. We also go into the 2nd leg of the CL playoff with a 4-1 deficit. Four home games in the league too which will hopefully boost our points tally.

AUGUST FIXTURES

View attachment 269883

We never really looked like losing until Caio gave a penalty away. Luckily enough star striker Khalifa netted a second to give us the 3 points

View attachment 269882

A lack of firepower meant we never really got going in this game and we go into the Europa League playoff

View attachment 269880

A very tough result to take as they scored the only goal from the penalty spot however we proved that we are capable of playing against the best as we dominated the game

View attachment 269879

After the defeat to Basel we had to get going again and that is what we did as we put four past Young Boys

View attachment 269878

Again we dominated this game however we couldn't take our chances until the 78th minute when Abrashi gave us the lead

View attachment 269877

Next up was the Europa League playoff and we hosted Chornomorets. A comfortable win giving us a nice cushion going into the away leg

View attachment 269875

We took the league early on and luckily enough Aarau missed a penalty which would mean that the game was in our hands. Another goal conceded due to our terrible defence but we was bailed out again by Khalifa

View attachment 269873

A draw was all it took in this game as Chornomorets never really threatened to get the tie back on. We go into the EL group stages

View attachment 269872

Vaduz never really looked like scoring having 4 shots all game and only hitting the target once. Poor shooting from us aswell however we got a penalty which was converted for all 3 points

LEAGUE TABLE

View attachment 269870

Sitting in a very respectable 2nd just behind unbeaten Basel which was expected

EUROPA LEAGUE GROUP

View attachment 269869

Ouch! We was given a very tough group in which all three teams will be very hard to beat

View attachment 269868

In the next month we start off our campaign in the Swiss Cup and we also play our first EL group stage game in which we host Dinamo

View attachment 847785

SEPTEMBER FIXTURES

View attachment 269767

What a game this was for the fans! Two late goals from Thun made us a little shaken but a 91st minute strike from loanee Merkel settled the nerves as we ran away 5-3 winners

View attachment 269766

We got off to a bad start and then it looked like Dinamo were going to win it. The half time team talk got the players motivated and we eventually went on to win the game after loanee LB scored a 25 yard screamer

View attachment 269763

A relatively easy cup tie as we put 6 past Kriens. Our leaky defense one again conceded goals even against weaker opposition and this is something that needs strengthening as soon as I get some transfer money

View attachment 269762

After two penalties and a red card I thought this game was going against us but once again Khalifa bailed us out with a late winner in the second half

View attachment 269761

We did not even do that well in this game however we was very productive in the chances that we did have which shows in the scoreline

LEAGUE TABLE

View attachment 269760

I think that we are doing very well considering in real life Grasshoppers are down the bottom! Only one point behind league leaders Basel

EUROPA LEAGUE GROUP

View attachment 269759

A decent opening in the group stage beating Dinamo 3-2 however they are the weakest team in the group out of the 3 we have to play so im not too confident yet

View attachment 269758

This month is going to be very tough! 5 away games however we should be winning the Swiss Cup 2nd round tie with relative ease. Hopefully we can do ourselves proud going to England and Spain in the Europa League. We also play Zurich in the derby

Nice seeing a story from a different nation, good luck. How do you get the wording in the the speech bubble?

OCTOBER FIXTURES

View attachment 269377

What an amazing result! The game was really dead in the second half with only a few chances for both teams but CB Jahic converted from the spot late on

View attachment 269376

Schneuwly who scored Luzern's goal when we plyaed them the first time haunts us again as he nets another 2 and gives us our second defeat of the league

View attachment 269375

Another simple win in the Cup however we did play a weaker squad which showed as the score line wasn't as convincing as the first round

View attachment 269374

A decent showing from us but when Khalifa missed the penalty the players heads dropped and Tottenham took advantage

View attachment 269373

An 11 goal thriller in the Zurich derby! What a way to end the month and gladly we came out on top. Serious questions to be asked about the defense though

LEAGUE TABLE

View attachment 269367

Still very close to Basel however the gap has extended to four points. Young Boys are also closing in on us and only 6 points behind

EUROPA LEAGUE TABLE

View attachment 269366

Hopefully 1/2 more results in the remaining three games and we can go into the knockout stages, would be a great achievement

View attachment 269359

A tough start to this month hosting Basel, Spurs and Young Boys. Then gets a little bit easier playing winless Aarau before our 5th Europa League game

View attachment 848799

NOVEMBER RESULTS

View attachment 269334

A great way to start the month with a dominant performance over Swiss giants Basel

View attachment 269333

Tottenham were a class above here and played us off the park, we never looked like scoring

View attachment 269332

A very even game which was mostly played in the middle of the pitch. A goal from Dabbur earned us a decent point

View attachment 269331

A shaky start but we brought it back and inform Dabbur bagged himself another 3 goals

View attachment 269330

A crucial away win in Croatia and eventhough we didn't play too well we still got the job done

View attachment 269329

Again another poor start to the game however when Lausanne had a man set off for receiving two yellow cards we took control of the game and advanced into the next round

LEAGUE TABLE

View attachment 269328

Level on points with Basel and Zurich in 3rd are 8 points behind

EUROPA LEAGUE TABLE

View attachment 269327

The last game vs Sociedad is going to be a crucial one! Win or draw and we go through in 2nd, lose and we get knocked out in the group stages

View attachment 269326

Only three games this month including the final EL game. We then have a break until February

View attachment 849021

DECEMBER FIXTURES

View attachment 269232

A great win against Thun as we held them to having 0 shots on target all game

View attachment 269230

When it went 3-3 I thought it was game over but the players showed huge amounts of character and went on to score 2 more goals and seal the deal! We have now qualified for the Knockout stages!!

View attachment 269228

Bailed out again by a Khalifa goal after we couldn't take our chances despite dominating the game

LEAGUE TABLE

View attachment 269226

Three points clear after Basel slip up. Hopefully we can carry on our run of form as we now have a 2 month break until February

EUROPA LEAGUE TABLE

View attachment 269222

Finishing second to Spurs is a very respectable position to be in and we now go onto face Bilbao in the 1st knockout round

EUROPA LEAGUE KO ROUND

View attachment 269221

Rather odd seeing Chelsea in the draw however Bilbao will be a very tough challenge

View attachment 269220

We now have a bunch of friendlies before taking on Bilbao and also two league games

View attachment 849197

FEBRUARY FIXTURES

View attachment 269153

A poor performance against Sion and we definitely deserved to lose

View attachment 269152

We had more chances and possession but we couldn't convert in front of goal which let us down

View attachment 269151

The month break took it out of us as we now cannot seem to win a football match

View attachment 269150

Gamukol's disallowed goal after Bilbao scored their first allowed for Bilbao to have some breathing space and they kept answering back when we scored

LEAGUE TABLE

View attachment 269149

Still top of the league which is one positive however look at poor Aarau down there winning 1 game in 21 :O

View attachment 269148

Some tough games this month including away games against Basel and Young Boys. We also play Sion in the Swiss Cup QF which would be a nice trophy to win

View attachment 850870

MARCH FIXTURES

View attachment 268419

Another Schneuwly penalty keeps us at bay and gives Luzern a point

View attachment 268418

A great win away to Basel and a crucial one in the title race

View attachment 268417

Dominated this game but the luck was not on our side and we had to settle for a draw

View attachment 268416

Since we came back from the break we can't seem to win..

View attachment 268415

What more to say! The luck is not on our side as we give up another lead and settle for another point

View attachment 268414

A great win in the cup quarter final and we move onto the semi finals. Gamukol coming off the bench and giving us the winner!

LEAGUE TABLE

View attachment 268413

5 points behind Basel now after the run of draws and Young Boys have also closed the gap to 3 points

TRANSFERS

View attachment 268412

Right back Luthl leaves as he wasn't getting any game time and young striker Kamberl also leaves the club. GK Vasic goes on loan to Challenge League side Lugano

View attachment 852010

APRIL FIXTURES

View attachment 267910

A very tight game against Thun however Gamukol produced the goods with two goals

View attachment 267909

Another game we get punished for not taking our chances, its becoming a habit now

View attachment 267908

A decent point considering we had a man sent off just after half time

View attachment 267907

Basically a free pass into the cup final as Martigny have one shot all game and it wasn't even on target

View attachment 267906

Three goals inside the first 15 minutes was all she wrote as it became a scrappy affair

View attachment 267905

Domination in this one as we hit St. Gallen for six. One of the best performances all season

View attachment 267904

Wow! We continue our great form as we put 5 past Basel

LEAGUE TABLE

View attachment 267903

In first place due to our goal difference as we put 5 past Basel at the end of the month

View attachment 267901

The final month of the first season and we also have the Swiss cup final to play against Young Boys. Hopefully we can keep up our good goal scoring form and hold on to the league aswell

Season is shaping up well! Really like the layout of it as well.

Wow, Basel must have had a bad run of games? Would be brilliant to win the league first season!
