who are the best footballers of all time. simple question, hard answer

Not that hard, Maradona and Pele although expect a lot of the younger generation to go for Messi perhaps even though in truth, the lad is good but still not good enough to lace Maradona's boots. Don't forget Eusebio as well or even Charlton and Best, all players that would have astronomical value in todays game.

In all honestly its hard to say, different times have produced different players? Would our generation of greats be the same players like 30 years ago and vice versa?

Pele, johann cruyff, maradona, goerge best, ronaldo(The one thats now old and fat), Beckenbbauer, Di Stefano, Puskas, Platini, Messi,

Eusebio (727 goals in 715 matches), Zidane ..

sorry if i left out anyone

but in my opinion, pele and the fat ronaldo takes the cake

di stefano
maradona
puskas

when Messi retires he will be considered the best of all time - his consistency is out of this world

Hmm, maybe, but what if he pulls a ronaldinho and burns out when he hits 28 ?

Ferenc Puskas and Johan Cruyff.
Puskas' goals to game ratio is just unbelievable.

Four best ever players: Pele, Maradona, Puskas and Jimmy Johnstone

I cannot believe Paul McShane didnt make that XD XD.
Liam Brady should surely be in with a shout tho

Maradona, Pele, Zidane and RONALDO ( luis nazario de lima )

Maradona and Pele bring something new to old football ... they've upgraded it, same thing did Zidane and Ronaldo to new football ... there is many great players on this list, but these four are the best !!!

To be honest this is hard because theres so many different players, positions etc,

I dont beleive messi should be in it as he is only just starting to prove himself as a footballer and anything could happen...

I avoided voting for Pele and Maradonna because quite frankly everyone knows they are both the greatest players to have lived.

I have went for my personal favourites of

Peter Schmeichel  never be a keeper like him.
Eric Cantona - Just superb.
George Best.
Zidane.
Shearer isn't a great in the world I dont think however in England yes he is a great.

Also do beleive Jinky Johnstone and Jim ' Keepy up ' Baxter should be there.

Gerd Muller scored 398 goals in 453 games in the Bundesliga and 68 goals in 62 games for Germany.

Maybe he was the best ever? ;)
