Greatest team of all time?

Alfredo di Stefano was a great player and deserves a mention in this thread.

Winning 5 consecutive European Champions Cup's with Real Madrid.

Was going to put him in, but couldn't imagine leaving out Zidane, Pele or Puskas.

Mighty Magyars are definitely the team that I always will say when one asks such a question.

In the current day, Barcelona's team is something magestical to watch (apart from when they got beat by Hercules, but yanno..)

arsenal invincibles, the late ninties man utd, barca now would be the 3 that spring to mind, but personally its the o'neill leicester from late ninties :)

as a squad - arsenal 03/04
as a team - brazil 1970/hungary early 50's
currently - barca

It always makes me wonder if Stanley Matthews played for bigger clubs in the days, would he be a constant mention in the all time teams?

Just a thought. Then again, I do still idolise the lad.

i would say man utd as a whole team but players id say giggs messi maradonna shearer was good so was pele and george best

First of, they were no called MAGICAL MAGYARS. Instead it was the Mighty Magyars. Anyway Hungary in the 50´s where superb. I also woud mention Ajax in the 70´s, Inter in the 60´s, and there are many other teams that left a legacy in the history of football. However, we should be greatful that we are about to experience what could be the greatest team ever, Barcelona 2008-? Not only that, but FC Barcelona is also the key structure of the actual Euro Cup and World Cup Champion (Spain). And I do believe that they have the potential to get a lot more trophies in the next decade. Again, we should be thankful to be able to witness this.

Sure, Magyars, Real Madrid in the 50´s, Milan in 90,s etc.... How many of us have seen them actually play? Not many.

After Pele..

You can't seperate these 2 players. You can't seperate any players from that time. You can, but it's really hard. I would go for Garrincha :)

Cafu - Baresi - Beckenbauer - Paolo Maldini
Garrincha - Zidane - Cruyff - Maradona

Pele - Puskas

There is no point of making up a team of your own :) There are just too many combinations to use. What about Baresi out and Hierro in ?

Although i agree with the 70s Brazil squad !

Current Barcelona team. I´ve never seen nothing quite like them. The closest i remember is Sacchi's A.C.Milan.

But my all star would be:

Schemeichel
Cafu - Lucio - Maldini - R.Carlos
Figo -Redondo - Zidane - Rivaldo
Messi - R.Baggio

These are the players i´ve enjoyed watching the most
