Hi there, been a long time FM player trying to find a consistent high possession, Guardiola-like Tiki-Taka tactic. After many tries and taking help from other different tactics along all the game editions I think I've found one that could fit any kind of team, top and underdog alike. It is based on a patient short-passing playing style that tries to maintain the possession and break the opponent's defensive system by trying to find a gap to its own box playing with a constant offensive style and at the same time conceding very few chances.

I've tested it with AS Monaco and Real Betis getting very nice results, winning domestic leagues, cups and champions league. Check it out and tell me if this also worked for you :)

Remember to tick the tiles on custom player instructions and opposite instructions (tell me if you dont know what im talking about) And sorry for it being in spanish :)

Everything else I leave it to the second manager.

A few match examples just with the underdog team, better results with AS Monaco :D

I've also uploaded some beautiful goals on youtube, they are really nice to see, here an example of what you can do with this tactic:

I'm gonna give a go too. I really want to use a perfect 4-3-3 tactic and all 4-3-3's I've tried are not working well. Hopefully this will

Another nice goal I scored today at the Spanish Super Cup:

this is tiki-taka,but i don't think this is Guardiola style.

from henry Explains, its should be very structured attack build up from defensive third to middle third.

but more freedom at final third.

i mean we can't make REAL Guardiola style in FM18.

standard or control or counter with very fluid or fluid??
which one of them worked perfectly

Well mate, maybe it's not EXACTLY the Guardiola style we see in real life, but this is the most closely thing I've seen in Football Manager after so many years :D

Thx o just beat real Madrid, frist season With benfica, in Madrid

Im curious about the type of players you need for each position. Do you need quick CBs or tall CBs? Quick forwards? and so on..

No problem man, this is why I'm here for! I'm happy to see it's working for you too :)

Well I didn't pay special attention to what kind of players are needed for that apart from telling my scouts to find technical players as fit as possible for the roles in the tactic. It worked for me, but if you want a more specific filter I can work on it. I don't like it because if you're very fussy on what players you want you would be missing incredible market opportunities (Like for my Real Betis team, I got Jean Michael Seri, Eliaquim Mangala and Yannis Salibur who did a great season completely for free and players like Munir for little more than 1 million €)

I suppose it is suppose to stay unchecked, as in the picture

I'm not sure what do you mean so let me explain that for you more in detail. On the opponent's instruction panel you can see those two columns with icons for every opponent player. The one on the right is mean for the particular player itself and only works for that player. The one on the left is mean for the position the opponent player is playing in and will work for every opponent playing in that position.
If you click on the right icon there will be no instructions to follow because we didn't change anything on that panel. I want you to click the left icon.

I hope you have understood this now.
