Acheivements, Awards & Acquiries.
The season ended on a massive high as we climbed our way back up the table to finish 2nd place and gain promotion to League One. The effort last season was helped majorly by the outstanding form of which Febian Brandy was experiencing, he came 2nd in the League Two Top Goalscorer charts with 30 Goals and got the highest overall average rating in the division.
Over the summer we had to balance the books by letting Ritchie Partridge, Barry Conlon, Adam Griffin, James Vincent & David Poole leave the club. As we did this, we managed to sign a whopping 13 players and spent only £42k.
The players we have signed are:
Dylan McGeouch - AMC
We signed the 17 year old former Rangers trainee on a Pre Contract in March and he is currently our second choice AMC, with our first choice being..
Paul Taylor - AMC
Taylor was brought in for just £12k from Anderlecht and has been tipped to be this seasons star player.
Robert Milsom - AML
Milsom spent last season on loan here and impressed as he made himself an essensial part of the side. Luckily, he was released by Fulham as the season concluded and we signed him up on a two year deal.
James McCarten - DC
The 19 year old former Everton man signed on a long term deal and is currently on loan to Altrincham. He is considered one of the brightest prospects in the entire side.
David Brown - DL
Another player for the future, Brown signed on a long term deal after he was released from Sunderland. He is also currently on loan to Altrincham.
Adam Barrett - DC
Probably our best signing, came for £30k from Crystal Palace and is promised to be one of our key players.
Stuart O'Keefe - AMR
Another signing from Palace, O'Keefe was released on a free at the end of the season and was snapped up in no time by us. He is a backup and possible succeeder to our current right winger..
Roy O'Donovan - MR
Signed on a free from Coventry, O'Donovan has experience in League One and after he scored a penalty on his debut against Sheff Wed, he looks make the MR position his own.
Shaleum Logan - DR
We've signed Shaleum on another season long loan from Manchester City. He impressed last year when he was on loan and manager Harry Charnock is looking to snap him up permanently at the end of the season when his contract at Man City expires.
Josh Magennis - ST
The pacey Northern Irish striker signed on a free after his contract at Aberdeen expired, he was signed as there was previously no sufficient backup for Brandy & Archdeacon but he is looking to possibly break through into the first team sooner or later.
Scott Malone - DL
The 19 year old former Wolves defender signed on a free and has taken over the reigns as the clubs first choice left back over injury prone Robbie Williams.
Carl Magnay - DC
We signed the 21 year old defender from Chelsea on a free after his contract expired and he has already convinced manager Harry Charnock that he is the man to partner Adam Barrett at the back.
Craig Westcarr - AMR
The 25 year old Right Winger signed for free on a 2 year deal from Notts County after his contract expired. He is a versitile Midfielder/Attacker and can play MR/L AMR/L FC, which makes him ideal backup for any injuries.
Harry Charnock has experimented with a wide range of signings this season and they all impressed in the first game of the new campaign against Sheff Wednesday as we drew 2-2. Roy O'Donovan slotted a penalty past Nicky Weaver and Paul Taylor made a fine pass to Mark Archdeacon to set up the second goal.
The next match is a Carling Cup game Vs Sheff Utd and another performance like that is beign wished for by the Stockport fans.
