I have always wanted to do one but always seemed to get bored but i have decided that im going to do one this time round and stick with it! I loaded all English league (down to Blue Square North/South) with a large database and started as manager of Dartford. The main reason i chose Dartford was because i wanted to start as a local club, i wanted to start at the bottom so didnt go for the club i support (Gillingham), Dover beat us in the F.A. Cup so i didnt want to manage them lol and i visited there for a pre season game this season and enjoyed myself so thought why not!

In FM 09 I'm currently in my 19th season as Swindon Town manager. The team play in the eloquently named, 65000 all-seater Nunya Stadium with undersoil heating and roof named after their greatest ever manager.. (I wonder who that could be? :P)

We've won a grand total of 80 trophies in my 6757 days in charge not including the reserve/youth titles or the youth cups. I've raised (and sold) so many wonderkids it's unreal. My longest serving player is Alexandre Coeff who joined Swindon at the end of my 3rd season in charge when we made it to the premiership through the play-offs (after scraping into them by 1pt on the final day of the season by beating 6th place) although he agreed to come in the January window (free transfer). Coeff is also the last real-life player that I have in my squad, the rest are all regens.

I still play the game, I'm planning on retiring at the end of Swindon's 150th anniversary season (formed 1879, game date 7/1/2027 so a couple more seasons after this one)

funnily enough, my next game is in the fa-cup 3rd round v Dartford which will feature my youngest squad player from the start, a french midfielder that I signed as a 14 year old (he's 15 now) called Thomas Dos Santos (wonderfully french name there, wonder who thought that one up? :$ )

I went 15 seasons with Pumas and Feyenoord on FM 10

I wish Football Manager could carry over files from 2010 to 2011 then I would do this - and the only reason I don't just start with all leagues enabled, unemployed, sunday league is..
A) the speed of loading etc
B) all players are fake when you finally make it to the big time - so you don't really sign the players you want anymore, you listen to your scouts mainly.

If there was someway in which all new young REAL players were added into existing files from newer versions I would only ever have one file and I'd be like 400 years old

nah... eventually you get bored. I only fire up '09 when I fancy seeing a world-class team playing world-class football wipe the floor with virtually everyone (but Arsenal are running me close for the title again), I hate Tobias Linderoth, the **** has nicked half of my best staff including my youth team manager Jeremy Newton (but I nicked Cesc as my new youth coach when he retired from playing so all's good).

I've fired it up today to get the stats above ^^^ and am considering playing the cup-tie with the best of my youth-team filled out with fringe players for a laugh (we'll maul Dartford so it's not a risk ;) )

(famous last words?)

Wait, how are you guys doing this? You load all the European leagues? I just load one league at a time cuz I prefer my games to be fast and speedy...

19 seasons as manager at the same club...that's epic mister!. The longest time I've spent in the same club was 6 seasons at Bayern Munich in FM2010, I won almost everything (except champions, Manchester City was my black beast twice), but the best thing was a wonderkid who became the best player in Germany, I still remember the name, Carsten Heitmeier...:) He was a beast!!

What I try to do is to either take control of a managerless LL team and see what I can do with them always hoping to do well enough to get the Huddersfield job on merit or just start unemployed and see what happens. In '09 I joined Swindon as they were managerless in the game (but in RL I'm sure Danny Wilson was already there :S). About 6 months in the Huddersfield job came available so I applied and was offered it. I wanted to finish the season with Swindon first and then go to Hudds but they refused so I stayed put.

I then decided I'd leave after ten years at Swindon (or as soon as the Hudersfield job became available once I'd done 10 years) but just as the season was ending the board told me about the stadium named after their greatest ever manager.... couldn't exactly leave then could I? - *******! :P

The Huddersfield job came available 6 months later and my alter-ego Jeremiah Nunya was created to take it instead. 5 and half years later I quit the Hudds job because I was bored yet Lazarus stayed at Swindon :P Jeremiah won the Euro Cup with Hudds, finished 3rd in the prem (Swindon top, Spurs 2nd), made it to the first knockout round of the CL and also managed Ireland to a second successive World Cup (David O'Leary won the previous one and then was SACKED! :S ). I quit the Hudds job at the end of the season we'd made the 1st knockout rd of the CL cos we absolutely BATTERED the opposition home and away yet lost 1-0 on aggregate.

The following season, with only ONE signing, Huddersfield finished 4th in prem and won the Euro cup again. What I noticed though, and thought it was wrong, was that I was no longer favoured personnel at Huddersfield from the moment I quit despite being the 1st manager to take them to European success... how the **** does that work? I quit because I'd taken them as far as I could, nothing wrong in that is there? (My Swindon team are monsters, World Class from GK - ST and every position in between and the majority have been at the club since they were teenagers - gotta love WK's :) )

Jeremiah joined championship Bolton about 6 months later and took them back into the prem and into Europe then was sacked after ONE defeat (shitloads of draws though meant they were 15th/16th and Man City beating Bolton at City sealed his fate :( ) I think he managed 3 seasons before Gartside spat the dummy out though :P

Currently in 2025/2026 with Dundee Utd, been with them the whole careers.

I had a couple of really good (and quite realistic) manager saves on FM08;

Save 1: Notts County > Aston Villa > Nigeria > FC Copenhagen > Man City

Save 2: SpVgg Unterhaching > Stuttgart > PSV > Arsenal

Really enjoy doing these types of games, means you're constantly looking to build and rebuild a good squad, my original plan on my Dundee Utd save was to move around clubs but I got really into it after a couple of seasons and 4 European Cups later I don't think I'll be going anywhere else anytime soon :)
