HAYES AND YEADING UNITED
Hi everyone thought i would make a thread for the team im currently managing in FM 2010 Hayes and Yeading. I only realised that you could post your own stories now so lets get started. My aim is to take Hayes and Yeading from their current status to the premiership and maybe even do my best to take them to champions league glory one day. Obviously one step at a time and i hope you all enjoy reading this thread as i will do my best to update on a daily basis if i can.
As i have already started a game and completed a few seasons with Hayes and Yeading i admit i did edit the editor and gave Hayes and Yeading a transfer budget of 15 Million at the start of my reign so obviously i had a advantage. Also as my game was corrupted as i got promoted in my first season as manager whilst i was in League 2 i had to start again. So i use the editor and put Hayes in League 2 as starting with the same players i had in the beginning of the game. I was obviously annoyed that my game was corrupted and didn't want to start again. At the moment i have managed to get Hayes and Yeading into the Championship in just a few seasons on a budget and with the board throwing profits at me at the same time so i have been fortunate. I got to League 2 in my first season in charge via 2nd place behind Cambridge at the time. Then i managed to sneak into the Plays Off of League 2 and won the Play Off Final at Wembley. Then after spending a bit on boasting my squad i managed to get into the Play Off Final again this time against Southampton and beated them at Wembley 1-0 to secure a championship promotion. Now i will continue the story from the Championship. The Board have asked me to bravely fight against relegation and i was given a very generous 30 million to do it. I have spent 8 million during the pre season and I have brought good quality players so im hoping i can survive this season avoid relegation. Before i start with my current squad as such i would like to provide information on Hayes and Yeading for those of you who are not familiar with them.
Hayes & Yeading United F.C. are an English football club based in Hayes in Greater London. They were formed in May 2007 following a merger of Hayes and Yeading. They play at the old ground of Hayes F.C., Church Road.
Formed on 18 May 2007, the new club play with the motto "Porro Simul" on their badge. Translated from Latin, this means "forward together". The badge also features elements taken from the Middlesex crest and semblance of the colours from both the former sides.
They played their first season in the Conference South in 2007-08, as both former teams did the previous season, with a 13th place finish. In their second season, 2008-09, they finished 4th, securing a place in the play-offs. They beat Eastleigh 6-4 on aggregate in the semi-final, coming back from 4-2 down in the first leg. In the play-off final they beat Hampton & Richmond 3-2 thanks to an opener from Scott Fitzgerald and a brace from Steven Gregory, securing them a place in the Conference National for the 2009-10 season.
The 2009–10 season is the merged club's first at the highest level of non-league football. Hayes previously spent 6 years at this level before their relegation in 2002, while Yeading never competed at such a level.

CURRENT SQUAD
TRANSFER THAT I HAVE MADE THIS SEASON
STADIUM:
Here is my run in the championship so far:
Bookies have given Hayes and Yeading a 33-1 odds on getting promoted. They said mid table if they are lucky and have a good campaign but depending on how they play against the big teams.
Hayes and Yeading 2 - 0 Nottm Forest
Obika
Etuhu
Fantastic start didn't expect to win and we dominated most of the match. Nottm manager was furious after the game as referee never gave a penalty which i admit could of changed the game. A bit of luck but a good start and points up on the table.
League Cup 1st Rd
Cheltenham 1 - 3 Hayes and Yeading
Chadwick, Harewood and Philliskirsk
A good solid away performance. Cheltenham gave me a tough start but Chadwick played out of his skin and provided two assists aswell as a goal. normally i play him on the right but switched him on the left for this match. good performance again and into the 2nd round which the board wanted to me to do minimum.
Plymouth 1 - 1 Hayes and Yeading
Sonko
A great set piece and Plymouth should of won this game. They had two goals disallowed and a penalty shout turned down. We rid our luck and Sonko provided a great header from a swinging free kick by chadwick. We managed to hung on for a valuable point.
Reading 3 - 0 Hayes and Yeading
Disaster. Couldn't keep the ball and surprised we managed to finish 3 - 0. Reading dominated the game. Defending was poor. we had a few half chances and a one on one missed but nothing positive that can be taken to the next game apart from can't defend like that again. Fair play to reading they are a top team in this division and promotional favourites.
League Cup 2nd Rd
Leeds Utd 3 - 1 Hayes and Yeading
Etuhu
Disaster again. I think it was too many away games in a row that was our fourth including the cup game. Leeds dominated and we was lucky to score. Beckford has a awesome game and finished with a brace.
Hayes and Yeading 3 - 0 Peterborough
Rhys Murphy (2) Philliskirk
I asked for a performance from a few players and they delivered in style. Im surprised how easily we dominated peterborough. We know we need a good home form to survive in the championship and i asked murphy to step up and he did but injured himself in the process. now its my decision to give him a injection for the next game or leave him out.
Blackpool 0 - 4 Hayes and Yeading
Etuhu (2) Murphy, Spence
Unbelievable. Murphy produced dispite being at 70% most of the game. i took him off around 75 min mark knowing he will be out for a couple of weeks or so. Murphy was the provider for Etuhu and Spence found the back of the net with a fantastic header. I hoped for a draw but the players responded well after i asked to play for the fans. Brilliant confidence restored.
Crystal Palace 1 - 1 Hayes and Yeading
Spence
Confidence carried into this game. Palace had a few half chances and scored early. Spence got another from a well worked set piece after i asked him to expect a performance. Lucky we got a draw as we was outplayed in the second half and lucky not to lose but also Borini was unlucky not to score being denied off the line. Still Palace are no walkover and glad to get a point.
Hayes and Yeading 1 - 2 Huddersfield
Harewood
I expected us to take the game to Hudderfield who came up to the championship with me. we beated them in League 1 Home and Away but not this time. Disappointing we never looked like scoring. 2-0 down in first half and it should of been more. I thought id give a hair dryer treatment because of the performance. We came out were unlucky not to finish drawing. We scored from the kick off in 2nd half and though we would push on. Few half chances towards the end but disappointed not to at least draw level that we deserved.
Next Game is against Doncaster at Home.
Will be updating daily so check it out. any feedback is appreciated amongst recommended players, tactics etc anything is appreciated so feel free to leave feedback. Also at least im honest about the editor it doesn't take anything away from the challenge it doesn't make it easier you still need to manage the team. Anyways feel free to let me know what you think thanks for reading

Hayes and Yeading 2 vs. 3 Doncaster
James, Etuhu
Disappointing! Another silly defeat to a team we were expected to beat. They had most of the possession and took their chances. I gave my team an angry team talk at half time and it worked after being behind 1-0 at half time we came back with two well worked goals. But they made a sub and he provided one and scored a sublime goal for the winner. It's back to the drawing board. I think the likes of Queudrue and Sonko were poor in this game and Sonko often got beaten to the ball. Murphy was poor too who after a few good performances this season didn't do much.
Hayes and Yeading 2 vs. 2 Sheffield United
Obika, Harewood
A good performance in the first half of the game and Sheffield United never looked like scoring but they came back strong and scored 2 in the second half. 2 - 1 down with 25 minutes left I put on Harewood and changed to a 4-3-3 formation. Sheffield United should have scored a 3rd but they were denied by last ditch defending. Chadwick was the provider for harewood who scored just before the 90th minute. Not 3 points but good performance and a show of heart are a step into the right direction. Jeremy Helen who was the left wing back in this game was immense especially in the first half and rightfully got man of the match.
Coventry 2 vs. 0 Hayes and Yeading
Nothing can be said. Coventry was simply better in all departments and their goals were worked well and overall their performance was good. We had a few half chances including Jonathan Obika hitting the crossbar towards the end of the first half. Apart from that we were outplayed.
End of the month for September
Hayes and Yeading's Jordan Spence scoops young player of the month.
Hampton and Richmond borough have been paid 8.56k part of their continued footballing partnership with Hayes and Yeading United.
Board Confidence Update
To summarize the board are delighted with the leadership qualities you are demonstrating.
The team’s fantastic overall performance in the coca coca championship had been a particular highlight.
However, they are monitoring the mood amongst the players in the squad.
The club recorded a loss of 896K last month.
Monthly Turnover: 295K
Previous month: 5.81M
Main Income: Gate Receipts 115K
Monthly Expenditure: 1.19M
Previous Month: 2.79M
Main Expenditure: Players Wages 762K
Hayes and Yeading 2 vs. 0 Cardiff
Etuhu, Borini
A fantastic result! Media predicted Cardiff to win comfortably and they were the team in form and were currently top of the table. We dominated the whole match which I was surprised that we did given we were on a poor run and I didn’t expect the performance to be so high. I gave Olivier Norwood a chance and he shined in the centre of the park. He provided an assist for Etuhu at the start of the second half and Borini sealed the win with a header from Etuhu’s cross. A much needed confidence boost after a poor run of games and the Cardiff manager was fuming at his team’s performance after the game.
Scouts suggested a few youngest who could shine under the right guidance so I made a few signings for the future.
Billy Knott = AMRL
Has good stats for an 18 year old and has the potential to play at a good level in the championship
Patrick Nzuzi = ST
Ex Newcastle reserve who looks promising too. Maybe give him a few years see how he comes in the reserves. He is 18 also.
Milan Lalkovic = AMRL
Slovakian young winger who was in the Chelsea reserves whilst I started in the Blue Square League. I remember asking Chelsea for him to come on loan and he rejected me. He currently has the potential to be better than Jaime Peter my current best wide man. Only 18 years of age so he has age on his side. I am excited about this signing and considering he was a free his value has shot up to 500K straight away which can’t be bad at all.
(Regen) David Kinsella (for January Transfer) = CB DMC MC
Amount: 65K
Promising youngster is only 17 years of age and has the potential to be better than Sonko and Spence my centre back pairing at the moment. His physical stats are very high especially for someone who is so young. Spent little money on this youngster and I have high hopes for him.
(Regen) David Peden (For January Transfer) = ST
Amount: 95K
Im delighted to have another good youngster and get him on the cheap. His stats are very good especially his work rate, teamwork and physical stats especially at such a young age. Only 17 years of age and has the potential to be better than Etuhu my main striker.
Watford 3 vs. 1 Hayes and Yeading
Spence
Another disaster away from home, Watford was one of the teams that got promoted from League 1 alongside us and I expected to at least get a result or a good performance. I got neither and the damage was done in the first half. We got a good goal from a set piece pounced on by Spence when we was 2-0 down but the third goal gave away the contest. I tried a 4-3-3 in the second half and although we had more of the ball we couldn’t find the back of the net.
Leeds 1 vs. 2 Hayes and Yeading
Murphy, Etuhu
An away game I was dreading. I thought we would get stuffed especially in the first half as Leeds dominated it but failed to take any chances. The second half we got a good goal on the counter before Leeds equalized straight away from the kick off. We held off all Leeds attacks before Etuhu was played onside by two of the Leeds defenders and lobbed the keeper from outside the box. Leeds had chances towards the end but the boys hanged on and caused a major upset. We have now had fantastic results over Leeds, Cardiff and Blackpool this season and hopefully we can achieve our aim of surviving in the championship. That win took us to 11th and hopefully we can get a run going soon as we need to stay consistent to avoid the drop.
Hayes and Yeading 6 vs. 0 Derby
Philiskirk (4) Etuhu (2)
Can’t believe it! What a performance from former Chelsea reserve midfielder Daniel Philiskirk! He ran the game on his own scored an unbelievable four goals and set up the rest of the goals. Definitely the best performance so far in the season and the confidence gained from the Leeds result showed throughout the match as the team never gave Derby an inch. Etuhu also had a solid game and was involved throughout. I was hoping for a run of a few games on the trot to keep us away from the bottom and maybe this could be the start of it. This was also our biggest ever win the last big win was 6-1 vs. Bromley.
Jordan Spence Claims October Player of the Month. The top three was Spence, Philiskirk and Henderson of Bolton.

Hull City 4 vs. 1 Hayes and Yeading
Etuhu
Didn’t do enough to even warrant a draw and we fell apart in the second half. The first half finished 1-1 but Ghilas was a regular in everything Hull did today. I knew it would be tough against Hull but what makes this worse was we could have easily had three or four goals in the first half instead of one. Just goes to show if you don’t take your chances you’re never going to score.
Hayes and Yeading 5 vs. 3 Swansea
Etuhu, Sonko, Obika (2), Weijl
Exciting match and could of went either way. Surprised we won and surprised Swansea took off Iker Munian (on loan from Chelsea) so early which helped as he was tearing my defense apart. But late goals from Obika and a sole run by Weijl got the 3 point. Starting to get more points on the table and Etuhu is on 10 goals this season. I have also noticed we tend to be very good at set pieces as we got one from Sonko this game.
James, Etuhu
