I **** you not. The junkie that was seen by thousands live on Sky Sports has been cleared of assault as he was initially accused of sectarian assault. The prosecution have been unable to prove that it was sectarian as Wilson said he only called Lenny a ******* ****** and not a fenian *******, so the assault charges have to be dropped oO)

He may still be charged of disturbing the peace (the very serious thing you can get for playing music to loud)

Joke of a decision. The precedent has been set.

Saw this and is a joke of a verdict. The sectarian assault may have been "not proven" but they should still have done him for common assault and he actually admitted this as well in court!!

So we have TV evidence AND the guy admitting it and what does he get charged with? Breach of the peace! A bullcrap charge that will bring about him doing community service.

why was he, Lennon, attacked at the first place ?

how about the parcel bombs ?

These were sent to him because he's a Northern Irish Catholic managing Celtic. Anyone who disputes it's anything to do with that has got their head buried in the sand as well because two players were mailed bullets in the post also - Paddy McCourt and Niall McGinn - also Northern Irish Catholics who play for Celtic.

It's sick bigoted moron's that do that stuff and anyone who says that Lennon "brings it on himself" is just as much of a moron.

Well, this is pretty much it because of Lennon coming from Northern Ireland which is regarded as "protestant" playing for (now managing) Celtic, who's roots are from Replublic of Ireland, which is mainly regarded as "catholic". It's bigotry, pure and simple, and in this day and age for people to still bring religion into a game of football is ridiculous. Even worse when these idiots send death threats to players/managers.

So, yep the good old sectarian problems unfortunately.

No one knows exactly WHY these morons do what they do apart from it being hate and bigotry. I mean Martin O'Neill never got anything like this when he was with us even though he's a catholic from Northern Ireland as well, albeit he never played for Celtic like Lennon. He's just been hated by certain sections of fans in Scotland and all he's ever tried to do is play for (and now manage) Celtic.

how about the parcel bombs ?

The people that sent those are the scum of the earth and should be detained for life. Im not a big fan of Neil Lennon but at the end of the day he is only doing his job.

The reason Neil Lennon received death threats during his playing career is because while seen as a Northern Ireland legend and national team captain , he said he didnt want to play for NI and wanted to play for ROI or and all Ireland squad. It didnt go down well with fans and then he signed for celtic and retired from international football. The reason Martin O'Neill didnt get any grief is because he loved playing international football for NI. He said he'd love to manage them too at the end of his career. Its not all to do with religion , Sammy Clingan the N.Irish midfielder is from The Falls in Belfast ( Catholic area ) and has always said his hero is Neil Lennon but theres nothing happens to him because he tries his hardest for northern ireland. McCourt untill the Faroe Islands game had never done what he does at Celtic and dribbles past players with ease. and McGinn never looks interested while playing for NI. I am not condemning the actions of any attack of attempted attacks ., im mearly providing an insight into Northern Irish football.

He's targeted because he's an irish catholic, and the man was let off because scotland has deep roots of sectarianism that are yet to be addressed, hence why the jury saw nothing wrong with what happened.

He happily played for the North of Ireland and captained the squad, he said he would like to play for a united Ireland. (a perfectly reasonable thing to say) not he wanted to leave the Northern set up. He retired from International fottball because the Northern fans where abusing him and he was sent a death threat stating that if he played for them again the UDA(?) would kill him. It is stupid to say Paddy and McGinn dont give there all for the North. (although I wouldnt blame them, having to listen to the vile that comes from the stands.) Yet the northern set up wonders why young nationalist players dont want to play for them
