The Rangers 2.0 comment that guy made was just a wee jab at Hearts. Us Celtic fans basically look at Hearts as an extension of Rangers because they pretty much have the same code of conduct as each other, and they both feel similarly hateful towards Celtic. It doesn't help that Hearts fans have attempted to jump Neil Lennon.

Scottish Premier League

Hibernian 1-3 Hearts

We kick off the new year in style with a great win in the Edinburgh derby. David Smith opened the scoring early on with a great strike from close range. Callum Paterson was brought down in the area and Jamie Hamill stepped to up convert the penalty. We were 3 up inside half an hour thanks to a great goal from Angus Beith. In the second half we dropped down a gear but remained comfortable. Liam Craig scored a late free kick but it was only a consolation goal for Hibs. The win moves us off the bottom on goal difference thanks to Celtic's win over Partick Thistle.

Callum Tapping has been ruled out for 4 weeks with a twisted ankle. Callum was just returning to full fitness after a week out.

Scottish Premier League

Hearts 2-0 Partick Thistle

This game came at the perfect time after we moved above Partick a few days before. The players took full advantage and wrapped up the win with 2 first half goals. Brad McKay scored the first with an excellent header and free-kick specialist Kevin McHattie scored the second moments later. We saw out the game in a professional manner to continue our excellent form. The win moves us up to 9th place in the table following the losses for Kilmarnock and St Johnstone.

Scottish Premier League

Hearts 0-2 Motherwell

Our fine form comes to an end as we are well beaten at home to Motherwell. Things started badly as Callum Paterson was taken off through injury. Goals from Henri Anier and Shaun Hutchinson in either half consigned us to a deserved loss. Our first since the beginning of November. We remain in 9th place but must pick ourselves up from this.

View attachment 401111

Disaster strikes as Callum Paterson is ruled out for 2-3 months. Paterson has been a key part of the side all season and his loss will hit us badly. Substitute strikers Paul McCallum and Dale Carrick have yet to score a goal so i'm understandably concerned.

View attachment 401110

Some good news as midfielder Angus Beith signs a one year extension to his contract. Having been the subject of transfer offers recently so I am delighted he will be staying with us.

Scottish Premier League

St Johnstone 0-1 Hearts

An important win but the performance could have been a lot better. James Dunne turned the ball into his own net to put us ahead and his day got worse when he was sent off in the second half. We gave St Johnstone far too many opportunities to get back into the game and we are lucky to walk away with 3 points. Substitute strikers Paul McCallum and Dale Carrick got 45 minutes each to try and decide who will take the strikers position, neither did enough to prove to me that they should be starting next week.

We announce the signing of Leeds striker Dominic Poleon on loan until the end of the season. His signing will hopefully dampen the loss of Callum Paterson.

Scottish Premier League

Ross County 1-1 Hearts

Jordan Slew got Ross County off to a brilliant start with a goal after 5 minutes. A dream debut for Dominic Poleon as he equalised with a frankly ludicrous chip before half time. Both sides had chances to take all 3 points, David Smith with a goal ruled out for offside in injury time. A draw a fair result in the end.

View attachment 401104

Scottish Premier League

Hearts 0-0 St Mirren

A subdued game and neither side really did enough to get a win. St Mirren are playing well this season so I'm not too disappointed with just a point.

January Review

A decent month and we can now start looking up the table. Im keen for us to keep going and not to drop back down. Only time will tell how much Callum Paterson's injury will affect us but I am pleased to have brought in Dominic Poleon who has started well.

Player of the month

Brad McKay. The defence seem to be improving each month and are benefiting from extended periods without too much chopping and changing. Brad topped off a fine month with an important goal against Partick Thistle.

I'd wanted to do one for a while, my only tip would be to just do it! It's a bit of a commitment, I start alot of saves and quite often get tired of them so I ran this one until January before posting anything so that I knew I would continue with it. I screenshot anything important and have a word file on a laptop for the text. It's a really rewarding way to play FM as it forces you to take things slower and really feel the impact of the game. Anyway, next update....

Scottish League Cup Semi Final

Hearts 3-2 Ross County

After an absolutely pulsating semi-final at Hampden Park we are through to the final! Dominic Poleon gave us the lead after 10 minutes but Ben Gordon equalised with a screamer from outside the box a few moments later. Poleon again scored to restore our lead just after the break and 15 minutes from the end Yoann Arquin scored for Ross. The game looked to be heading for extra time when on 92 minutes we were awarded a free kick on the edge of the box. Up stepped that man Kevin McHattie to send us into the final. A wonderful game of football and a win we fully deserved. Callum Tapping also made his return from injury although there were worries when Angus Beith hobbled off.

View attachment 400988

View attachment 400986

There were fears for Angus Beith but instead it is Jason Holt who faces time out. He twisted his knee during the semi-final and faces 2-3 weeks on the sidelines.

View attachment 400985

Celtic beat Aberdeen 1-0 in the other semi-final so we shall face the champions at Hampden Park on 16th March.

Scottish Cup Fifth Round

Hearts 2-0 Cowdenbeath

I was hoping for a comfortable win before the game and that's exactly what we got. David Smith scored a fine header after 2 minutes and Dominic Poleon doubled our lead 10 minutes later. Cowdenbeath had Liam Callaghan sent off before half time and that was pretty much game over for the away side. We should and probably could have scored more but I'm not too bothered. A comfortable win puts us through to the quarter finals.

View attachment 400983

We are drawn away to Partick Thistle in the quarter finals of the Scottish Cup.

Scottish Premier League

Inverness 1-1 Hearts

A disappointing result considering Inverness played for 70minutes with 10 men. Billy King put us ahead on 10minutes with a decent header from close range. On 20minutes Dominic Poleon was put through on goal, Gary Warren hauled him down and the referee sent him straight down the tunnel. We were comfortable but unable to kill the game off with a second goal. We were punished towards the end as Nick Ross equalised for Inverness after a scrap in our penalty area. A good point but disappointing under the circumstances.

Robert has spent time at Swedish clubs Malmo and AIK and I'm hoping his quality and experience will be a real boost to our chances of a successful season. Robert will be available to the squad for the upcoming game at Tynecastle against Celtic.

Scottish Premier League

Hearts 1-0 Celtic

One of our best performances of the season. We were well on top in the first half and unlucky to go in at half time without a goal. The game was settled with another superb trademark free-kick from Kevin McHattie. Celtic pressed late but we held our never to claim a famous win against the champions. Jason Holt returned from injury and Robert Ahman-Persson made his debut.

February review

A superb month for Hearts. Getting to the Scottish League Cup final is a great achievement and a challenge against Celtic is something we are well geared up for. The month was finished in style with probably the best victory of the season so far. We are entering the business end of the season and to see the team playing so well is very encouraging. I don't think it's asking too much to aim for the top six when the league splits in a few weeks time. We have six games remaining until then and currently sit only 2 points behind Ross County in 6th position. At the same time, we have to be weary of our position as we are also still very close to bottom and only a few bad results away from a very precarious place.

Player of the month

Kevin McHattie. Without a doubt. Winning goals against Ross County and Celtic, alongside superb displays against Cowdenbeath and Inverness means he takes it by a landslide. He's a great asset to the club and someone I'm hoping can be with us for a long time yet. He's still only 20 years old and at this rate will soon be one of the best defenders in the league. His consistency and set piece ability make him stand out amongst the rest. Long may it continue.

Sorry to bother you, but could you link me the pack for Regen faces like that?
Love the layout of your story by the way!

Thanks very much! But sorry, no regen face packs or anything! Just using standard FM with the latest patch!

If you're talking about Angus Beith? He looks about 12 years old in that photo! ha!

Scottish Premier League

Motherwell 1-1 Hearts

A fine performance away to a strong Motherwell side. We started slowly and Motherwell took full advantage on the half hour mark with a goal from Henri Anier. Dominic Poleon equalised for us just before half time and we looked well on top from then on. We couldn't quite find the quality in the final third and the game finished even. A fair result.

The club today announced a new intake of youth team players. It was a strong group this year and the following players look to have a real chance of a successful future with us:
David Mason (GK)
Andrew Macleod (ST)
Steve Garden (ML)
Craig Martin (CB)

Scottish Cup Quarter Final

Partick Thistle 1-1 Hearts

We really ought to have won this game. Dominic Poleon gave us the lead before half time and we seemed to be in control. Dominic Samuel equalised for Partick just after the break and they had the better of the last half an hour. We could've wrapped it up here but I'm confident for the replay at home.

View attachment 400726

Scottish Cup Quarter Final Replay

Hearts 1-0 Partick Thistle

A poor game in truth. Both sides failed to create anything note and I was beginning to worry. We got a lucky break after an hour when Isaac Osbourne was sent off for Partick. We took advantage when Billy King was put through on goal to give us the lead. A comfortable end to the match and we head into another semi-final at Hampden against Hamilton.

View attachment 400725

Scottish League Cup Final

Celtic 4-0 Hearts

I didn't have much hope going into the game but to lose like this is very disappointing. A first half Anthony Stokes hat-trick sealed the game and it was all uphill from there. We played a lot better in the second half but lost Dylan McGowan to injury with all 3 substitutes having been used. Celtic took advantage and Stefan Johansen finished us off. It's a great achievement to get this far and I can only hope we don't let this defeat hamper our good form to date.

View attachment 400724

Scottish Premier League

Hearts 0-1 Aberdeen

Not the performance I was hoping for after the cup final. The players simply didn't look up to it today. Scott Vernon gave Aberdeen a first half lead and we never really responded. We need to get back on track.

View attachment 400723

Scottish Premier League

Hearts 0-2 Dundee United

Our poor from continues with another defeat. I'm not sure how we were not ahead at half time as we completely dominated Dundee United. The away side punished us in the second period with 2 quick goals from Gary Mackay-Steven and Marc McAusland. We never recovered and went down to our 3rd straight defeat.

View attachment 400722

Scottish Premier League

Kilmarnock 0-3 Hearts

Just what we needed. A good result and a good performance. Kevin McHattie put us ahead in the first half to settle the nerves. Sammy Clingan was sent off just after the break to give us some breathing space. Callum Tapping and Billy King capitalised on the man advantage to give us a much needed victory. It's been a tough month and the players are beginning to show some fatigue.

View attachment 400721

Scottish Premier League

Hearts 2-2 Hibernian

An excellent Edinburgh derby which we really should have won after Hibs went down to 10 men early on. Owain Tudur-Jones was shown a straight red after 20minutes and I'm still not entirely sure what happened. Jason Holt gave us the lead moments later but a Paul Hefferman header sent us in level at the break. Hibs took a surprise lead after half time and it looked like we'd blown it. 3 minutes into injury time and Jason Holt equalised to spare our blushes a bit.

March Review

An extremely busy and testing month. Disappointment against Celtic in the final was followed by 2 awful results at home in the league. Our response since has been good. We can no longer reach the top six as we only have one game left of this round. It's unfortunate but considering our position at the beginning of the season I am quite pleased. Our targets are clear now and we still have a fantastic opportunity to reach another cup final.

Player of the month

Jason Holt. Jason has been an understated superstar of our season so far. His statistics tally hasn't really done justice to the work he has been doing in our midfield so I was delighted with his two goals in the Edinburgh derby.

Callum Paterson has returned to full training. His return is timely as Dominic Poleon's great form when he joined us has started to stutter a bit. The weekend game may be a bit soon for Callum but the news of his return is no doubt a big boost for the rest of the season.

Scottish Premier League

Partick Thistle 0-1 Hearts

A welcome but slightly fortunate win. We were once again the beneficiaries of a first half red card for the oppositon. Isaac Osbourne was sent off against us for the second time this season early on. I was hoping we would take advantage and really dominate the game but it never really happened. Just as it looked like we would pass up the opportunity, Jason Holt scored his third goal in two games to grab us the win. The result moved us up to 7th in the table and was the last game before the league split. Callum Paterson returned from injury and played ten minutes at the end.

Paterson only featured for ten minutes in the previous game after a long lay off and is unlikely to play again this season. He is due to join up with Newcastle at the end of the season so may have played his last game for us.

Scottish Premier League

Hearts 3-1 Inverness

A thoroughly professional performance today. Jason Holt continued his fine goalscoring from to put us ahead. Inverness responded excellently and got a deserved equaliser through Ryan Christie. David Smith crept in at the far post to make it 2-1 at half time. We dominated the second half and Jason Holt got his second of the game to seal the win. Jason has now scored five goals in the last three games. There were unfortunate injuries for Billy King and Sam Nicholson but we are hoping that they are not too bad.

View attachment 400483

Scottish Cup Semi Final

Hearts 0-1 Hamilton

Completely unacceptable. We just didn't turn up today. A first half David Foley goal was all that separated us but it could easily have been more. We've wasted a good opportunity here and we can only make up for it with a strong finish to the season. Danny Wilson and Callum Tapping were both forced off through injury and we will have to wait to see the extent of the damage. Hamilton go on to face Celtic in the final.

A poor game. Neither side did enough to win. It was a better performance than the Hamilton game but we lacked the cutting edge up front. Dale Carrick thought he'd won us the game deep into injury time but the goal was ruled out for offside. Billy King and David Smith were taken off due to injury.

April Review

A disappointing month purely because of the Hamilton result. Our league form has been good and I'm quite confident of securing 7thplace in the league. Considering our targets at the start of the season then I'm very pleased. A win at home to Motherwell all but secures our place in the SPL for next season. Jason Holt's form this month has been a particular highlight.

Player of the Month

Jason Holt. Jason deservedly won the SPL Young Player of the Month and takes this personal accolade for the second month running. He continued his goalscoring from impressively and has been key in our good league performances.

Motherwell scored a consolation goal late on but the result was never really in doubt.

A freak result. I have no idea what happened here. The game was over quickly as we were 3-0 down inside 20 minutes. Goals from Stephen O'Donnell, Dominic Samuel and Chris Erskine. We pulled one back when Jeroen Tesselaar headed into his own net. Partick captain Conrad Balatoni completed the scoring late to mark a completely forgettable day for the team. With Inverness beating Motherwell, we drop down to 8th position.

Scottish Premier League

St Johnstone 0-3 Hearts

We end the season in style with a super display of attacking football. St Johnstone had already been relegated and you could tell. Callum Paterson, making possibly his last appearance for the club, opened the scoring with a powerful strike. Billy King added a second soon after and David Smith made it three before half time. We continued in the second half but couldn't find a fourth goal. James Dunne was sent off for the second this season against us. Jason Holt, Robert Ahman-Persson and David Smith were all substituted because of injury. We will wait to find out the extent of their injuries. End of season review

I am very pleased with our overall performance this season. Our target at the start of the season was to avoid relegation and exit administration. We have finished a lot higher in the league than I anticipated and had good success in the two cup competitions. Our finances are looking secure for the future and we have a good solid base of young players who have proved themselves capable of taking Hearts forward.

Player of the Season

1. Kevin McHattie. Kevin has been our most consistent performer by quite a long way. At 20 years old, it is exciting to think of the progress that he can make in the future with such a solid base to build on. Six excellent free-kicks and four assists prove that he is as dangerous going forward as he is solid in defence.

2. Billy King. Billy's stats speak for themselves. Fourteen goals and twelve assists this season is a great return from such a young player. His contribution to the team has been invaluable.

3. Callum Paterson. Despite missing around half of the season, Callum's contribution at the beginning of the season set the foundations for our success this year. We were hugely disappointed to lose him to Newcastle, but massively thankful to have him on loan for the year.

That must be sore losing to Hamilton in the Semi-Final! at least they went on to win it though so must have made the loss a bit more easier, Next season you should be able to challenge for Europe. I would try and get Tony Watt on loan if you can the is a 20+ goals a season striker in the SPL.

Yeah I was shocked to lost to them and even more shocked to see them win it. Europe is the target for the upcoming season. I'm a little ahead of the updates so will have to have a look at Tony Watt for a later transfer window! Cheers though mate.

Pre-Season Friendly

Dartford 0-2 Hearts

A brilliant performance today. Dale Carrick gave us the lead in the first half. Dartford were reduced to ten men in the second half and Robert Ahman-Persson capitalised with a 25-yard screamer late on.

Pre-Season Friendly

Barnsley 2-0 Hearts

A disappointing result against an impressive Barnsley side. First half goals from Jim O'Brien and Chris O'Grady sealed the win. We improved in the second half but couldn't find a breakthrough. Jamie MacDonald, Angus Beith, Callum Tapping and David Smith were all forced off through injury.

Pre-Season Friendly

Charlton 3-1 Hearts

The scoreline flatters Charlton a bit here, we were quite unlucky. Charlton had most of the game but we didn't deserve to lose 3-1. David Smith and Billy King both had goals ruled out for offside. Benik Afobe got our only goal of the game late on.

Pre-Season Review

Some good performances, some bad. Pre-season is mostly about fitness for me but I can't help but think that we need to step up a gear to get a good start in the league. I feel we have added some quality with the signings we have made, to compliment the good basis we already had.

August 2014

Season Preview

The board expectations have been set at continental football. I feel this is achievable considering we would have finished third last year were it not for our points deduction. We've added quality in positions that were shallow in depth and I'm quietly confident about our chances this year.

Personal targets for myself are to continue to keep the club in a healthy financial state, to continue with our decent domestic cup record and to aim for a top three league position.

View attachment 400193

Key Players

I'm hoping Kevin McHattie picks up where he left off last season. The left back was our key player last year and still has a lot to offer.

Jason Holt
finished last season scoring goals for fun. If he can continue to do so then he will quickly become our most important player.

Danny Wilson
was consistent in defence last year and I'm sure the captain will be key to any success we have this time around.

Benik Afobe, making his debut, doubled the lead soon after. Within 40 seconds of the restart, it was 3-0. Smith was pulled down in the area and Hamill stepped up to score the penalty. Scottish Premier League

Celtic 1-1 Hearts

A brilliant result away to the champions and we almost won it. Brad McKay gave us an early lead with a powerful header form a corner. We looked the better side in the first half but after the break Celtic came at us. We battled hard but couldn't keep them out any longer, Amido Balde equalising for the home side. Callum Paterson almost stole the win late on but his shot went wide of the post. Robert Ahman-Persson and David Smith both picked up knocks late on and soldiered on for the final 10minutes, we'll wait to see if there is any lasting damage.

Callum Tapping made sure of the points shortly after with a shot from close range.

Scottish Premier League

Hearts 1-2 Dundee United

A poor showing from us and we fully deserved our first defeat of the season. Danny Wilson put the ball into his own net after just 2 minutes. Dundee United were well on top and we went into half time behind. We just didn't up our game and were extremely fortunate to be awarded a penalty with half an hour left, up stepped Jamie Hamill to score. I thought we'd gotten away with a point but two minutes into injury time Chris Brown got the winner.

Scottish League Cup Second Round

East Fife 2-4 Hearts

We made a few changes for this cup game. Youngsters Kai Wilson, Angus Beith, Sam Nicholson and Liam Smith were all handed starts. The game could not have begun any better for us as we were 3-0 up inside ten minutes. Callum Paterson scoring after 40 seconds, a Rutkiewicz own goal made it two and Paterson got his second moments later. There was to be no hat-trick for Paterson as he was forced off through injury. All three goals were assisted by Sam Nicholson, himself forced off through injury at half time. Paterson's replacement, Benik Afobe, made it 4-0 just after the break and we took our foot off the gas. Steven Anderson, making his debut, was at fault for East Fife's late goals before picking up a knock late on.

A debut to forget for Anderson as he is ruled out for 3-4 weeks.

August Review

An excellent start to the season. Apart from the Dundee United game, we have been unstoppable. After a fairly mixed pre-season I was slightly concerned but the players have stepped up their game massively. We sit third in the league with an opportunity to go top when we play Hibs on September 1st. The past two months have also seen numerous transfer bids rejected for our youngsters in the U19's. Striker Andrew Macleod and defender Craig Martin in particular have been the subject of some frankly ludicrous transfer bids. The sums thrown around show just how much potential these two in particular have and we are delighted that they're going nowhere.

Player of the Month

Brad McKay. Brad's position in the starting lineup was under serious consideration following the signing of Steven Anderson. We stuck with him and he has repaid us with an excellent month. Brad was also the subject of transfer speculation so to get him on a long term contract is good news for us.

great start to the season almost perfect, you would have took 10 points at the start of the season after those games though with a game in hand to take you top!
