I've tried to create a catenaccio tactic and think it works quite well

Isn't the catenaccio supposed to be defensive?

It's not supposed to be only defensive. You can't win by only defending. Catenaccio introduced the Libero wich was an extra defender. That's probably why it is thought to be mainly about defending.
