Right, I like to build my team on a solid deffence with pacey players, but I struggle against small teams with the counter attack. Any good tactics out there that work against small and big teams?
Aston Villa are set up as a beast counter attacking team. Create a solid defence, create a two man midfield consisting of a destroyer and someone with great passing vision comfortable sitting deep (like andrea poli) then when you win the ball, your pacey strikers and wingers can tear up the pitch and your deep lying playmaker picks them out. Goal.
I'd suggest making two tactics. No team play the same way every game and trying to play counter every game isnt going to work. Have one tactic for all out attack with a solid-ish defence against worst sides while having a counter tactic for everything else. If you get two tactics that work just alternate between them and you'll dominate.
