HELP ... my team is so inconsistent

can somebody help me ive never had this before, im Hartlepool ive made a few signings so my team is decent. I can go for destroying top of the table to getting dominated and beaten 3 - 1 by crawley who are basically bottom, this seems to be a pattern over my season.

could someone give me some tips or advice to keep steady results...
