help - noob attempts things that he maybe shouldn't

Hello -

I'm quite new to downloading kits, backgrounds, etc.

I've downloaded gordie's massive widescreen background pics, created a folder (graphics/backgrounds) but nothing seems to happen. I've got the tics right, (no tick for the top box, ticked bottom, and have ticked the "backgrounds".

I am not seeing anything that i am doing wrong, but still, no background pics.

If anyone has background advice, incluing skins to use for them, i'd be indebted to them.

by the way, first time playing FM, never downloaded tactics or training, but have brought Notts Co from CC2 to the premier in three seasons. not bad. I'm in 8th halfway through 2013/14.

Are you sure that they are not only matchday backgrounds? That might be the reason

i believe that they are matchday only, but they do not come up on matchdays. i am playing a saved game, but didn't think that would be an issue.

I've heard that too. so i've downloaded several skins, all of which have worked fine in the game. But still, no background images. it's wierd, right?
