Yeh the only way is to just go on holiday for a year. It shouldn't take too long for it to do a season.

you could start a game with like the brazilian league or some league that starts in january/february time and change the start date to then rather than the english start time in july.

go to the game set up..you may find something where you can change the date.....try it..you have nothing to lose...
