6 weeks. 8/10 games. Fitness very high for two weeks, tactics very High for two weeks and team cohesion very high for one week and then high for the next week (which should be the week leading up to your first league game) but only use TC if you have signed many players during the season. If you haven't then for the final two weeks pick whatever you like to.
No rest day before the game (obviously one after the game) and make sure there is 3 days between matches to get enough training in.

Also try and play very bad sides so you can put 5/6 goals past them to build morale.
