Liverpool's principal owner John Henry hints that he may choose to redevelop Anfield rather than build a new stadium in Stanley Park.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay :D

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay :D
this was always going to occur, barring any difficulties, exactly what they did in Boston. Good for Anfield though

Could we be seeing an owner with his head screwed on correctly? Anfield is filled with amazing history and they definitely should not move.

This is brilliant news.
NESV are definately taking us forward

Absolutely, just got to get round the council now.

And what exactly is that supposed to mean?

He doesn't understand a thing. Just upping his post-count.

On topic: Yea, it should be good for Anfield. Are they increasing the capacity? If yes, even better

think they might look at revamping their defence first lol

In all seriousness, nothing is concrete but this will probably happen

Im sure if they offer to invest into the local community the council will rip their arm off, especially with all the government cuts to councils.

Yes they'll increase capacity, on top of improving hospitality and increasing the amount of corporate boxes etc. Which is where we have been left for dead by United in the last 20 years.

Good for Liverpool fans. Rivalry aside, i have a massive respect for them and love watching Liverpool home games just for the atmosphere. It is even better that they are revamping instead of new stadium. After all the misery, at last good news are coming thick and fast for Liverpool which you lot deserve.

Good. The idea of a new stadium has never interested me, much rather Anfield was revamped. NESV really are listening to the fans.

+1

Can't imagine us in another stadium. Plus these older stadiums have a better (and louder) atmosphere compared to the new ones that are more open.

To be honest dont think it was anything to with listening to the fans, its just how they work, see Boston. Of course he has to look at all options but their preferred course was always refurbishment. Either way, liverpool wins

They've had multiple meetings with SOS concerning Anfield and our prior plans to build a new stadium...

Don't forget about all the cups and league's as well as the corporate boxes ^^)

But their preferred course has always been to refurbish. If it wasnt in the long term interest they wouldn't have agreed to do it
