I'm sure many of you have seen the sad going on's at Hereford Utd. The club is facing extinction. They got relegated from the Skrill Prem not because of football but because of an unpaid bill. They are currently in the football wilderness. A new owner came in, but he was later found out to be an armed robber. He has asset stripped the club, everybody has lost there jobs. Morgatge repayments cant be paid. The city has lost it's heart. The club is on its last legs, opposite the football club sits a new 60m shopping centre. We may have lost the club but we got a nando's and a frankie and bennies. It's ok.

Then today after being at the club just over a week the new chairman stepped down http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hereford-worcester-27903507

But out of nowhere a savior was found. The Bulls needed help. And with Bull in there name an Austrian machine has stepped in. Welcome to the new Hereford Red Bulls.

Director of Football

A football project of this scale needs a football mind. He is in charge of getting in staff, approaching youngsters, sending the scouts out , with a job this size Red Bull knew they needed a guy who has been there and done it. So he can help the young rookie manager they intend to appoint. That man ... Glenn Hoddle

View attachment 612823

This is a very clever move on the part of Red Bull. Hoddle actually had a team of acadamy players in spain and they done really well. The infamous Glenn Hoddle Acadamy. With that knowledge behind him and the contacts he has in the game, it looks like a clever move from the guys at Red Bull.

I've been involved in the update scene for football manager for over 5 years. From the very popular Wally update to the best update on the planet LFCMarshall's Summer Transfer Update 2014 - Downloads - Football Manager 2014 Tactics, Wonderkids & Cheats. That just gives me superior knowledge. I also have my coaching badges (lies, but it's amazing what you find online) I went over to Red Bull Headquaters Hereford. With my CV, including all accomplishments from Championship Manager 1997-Present Day. They knew there was only one man for the job. No seriously. I was the only one to apply. And before i knew it, I was the new proud manager of The Hereford Red Bulls

Glenn is in charge of recruitment. I trust him. He said something about some Eileen woman. Keeps banging on about her. I can only assume he actually wants to come on Eileen. Anyways that was put to bed. Exactly what Glenn did to Eileen by all accounts.

Tactics

I've been a big fan of the diamond formation this past 12 months. Liverpool blew teams away. I think England would also blow teams away, but Woy thinks different. But 41212 is how this team is going to play and i will have a 4231 for backup.

View attachment 369765

View attachment 369764

I still needed a bit of advice. I have a 5 year plan for Championship football. Glenn was off scouting somewhere. Listening to Kenny G. So I rang Brendan Rodgers.

View attachment 369763

He said "I like you Matt, you got good ideas, your a great man, a great technician. If you need help, i'll be here for you at anytime, day and especially at night. Just do me a favour. Dont go and speak to Roberto. That guy has more loan deals than ****** wonga. He knows nothing the spannish waiter. If you speak to him. I'll smash you"

I was not gonna argue with the great man. He might still have IRA connections. So i then went off and knew i had to get my squad together. Glenn had found some kids on his travels. One a local lad looked like a player. He was a lad i thought i could build a team around. He was just 16. But with a kid this good, things were looking up

With a 16 year old tho, i needed some experience heads around him. I'll report back after pre season and let you know how i got on.

NB: If you want to do this challange yourself the db i created is here. Let us know how you get on if you do take up the challange yourself. Zippyshare.com - Red Bull Hfd.xml And if you need help with the graphics let me know.

My wage budget takes a dump on anybody in this league. Thanks Red Bull. To be frank. I got a league one budget. But nobody wants to join. So i ploughed a load of the money into wages i ignored my assistants instructions on who wanted to come. If they talk turkey i'll be having em. I asked him to get a list of players in who are paid a max of £1000 p/w then with some scouting and searching i built up a squad which might do the job for a couple of years.

I really think Gary Martin could play in league one. What a find. And Wayne Brown for £475 is a monster at this level. First game was Altrincham at home. It was pretty routine. The tactic look like it worked a peach. Teams do not know what to do against the diamond. A 2-0 in my debut in the new Red Bull arena has set the tone for things to come i hope. Here's the lowdown

View attachment 369708View attachment 369707

I'm gonna crack on, I figure i'll share what i've done and the hidden gems you can find. I'm expecting sucsessive promotions to league one level. Then the real business will start.

Absoloutely smashing it. It's to be expected tho. Some serious gems in this side for league two clubs for anybody starting a save or a network game against any friends. Sam Parkin is a goal machine. Gary Martin is top notch. I've signed Tom O Brien before in other saves but at 22 he gets very good. First time i've seen this Martin in FM but he clearlly can play at a much higher level.

May 2014

Won the league at a canter. I'm going to overhall the squad anyways. A lot of people done jobs this year but i would like a young english side i can develop and try and make some serious money for when i get to league one/championship.

Gary Martin is a revelation the guy is pure class. A must buy for any league two below team. Sam Parkin done well but i'm going to release him anyways. I want a younger side and so does not fit into any of my long plans. Good short term signing again tho would highly recomend.. But if i can be Frank for a min... lets talk about Frankie Sutherland. This 19 year old on loan from QPR was a real star as an AMC. I think i will try and sign him after this season. 12 in 18 was phenomenal, Here's a look at the squad stats for the end of the season

Skrill Prem

Pre Season

The squad needed a total overhall. I had a bit of coin in. So i figured out with the old in with the new. I wanted to build a side which could stay together until i get up to league one. So with that in mind there was a very busy summer down the Red bull arena.

View attachment 369061

By far the biggest signing Tom Pope. The boy is a bit of a player. He is no Lambert/Grant Holt but in lots of ways he is. He could do a decent job for someone in the championship. Never really been given a chance. He will now. New Number 9. Be a club legend. Will work well with Martin.

Tom Pope
View attachment 369059

Another player spent some money on Linganzi from Gillingham. Always been a solid player for me in the past. He was a Blackburn player before. I'm a big fan of tall athletic african men. And if they can play football .. thats a bonus lol. Seriously if you want a DM and a lower league team this guy can be your Yaya Toure.

Amine Linganzi
View attachment 369057

A brief overview of the other signings. The 2 fullbacks and the 2 CM's, Its crucial i have an engine in midfield with this formation. Dunne looks like he got a really good engine. Harry Pell used to be at Hereford Utd and at 6'4 is another monster for midfield. And 2 young fullbacks who will develop. They provide the width in attack and in a diamond are often the guys who are left spare. For me Chalmers looks like he can go on to play for us all the way to the championship a bargain from celtic.

The Wonderkid

Chris Ryan. As i thought from day one this kids got talent. I'm turning down around 3m for him already. I think he will go on to play for England. But i would say that. Check out his progress. He is only gonna get better

Skrill Premier Season Overview

Well things went well. With the squad i had i knew it would Ryan and Pope are good enough for League One. I would say this side would finish bottom half of league one. No probs. But as fate would have it the season also went very well for Barnet. We were neck and neck. And just like the mighty Athletico and Barcelona. On the final day of the season **** got real.

Hereford Red Bulls vs Barnet title decider.

Both teams on 98 points. Winner takes all. Squeeky *** time was in full effect. And i was fresh out of immodium.

View attachment 369047

First Half was dire. Seriously. Keiron Dyer. The occasion was just too much for the lads. Then after half time they knicked a goal 52nd min. I knew i was being done tactically. The AMC was not in the game. I couldnt switch to 4231. I changed to a 433 instead. 2 inside forwards and an attacking forward. Basically what France play and what England should be playing with the line up Woy picks. Less said about that the better the god **** bunch of turkeys. Things were not going well. I needed a hero. And boy did i get one.

The change worked. Linganzi scored what can only be described by Paul Merson as a WORLDY. 1-1 Game on. Then in his new AMR role with his crafty left foot. Chris Ryan settled promotion. Red Bulls had done it. Won the title and in the process went over 100 points. Oooosh.. Proper Nutty.

View attachment 369038

Chris Ryan stats ended up sweeping all awards. 45 Games 20 Goals 29 Assists. Not bad for a 17 year old. Hereford Red Bulls are into the football league. 2 promotions in a row. 2 titles in a row. A great man once said, well i say great.. Roddy Piper once said and I'm paraphrasing here, "I came here to do two things win titles and chew bubblegum and son I'm fresh out of bubblegum"

The 5 year plan of becoming a Championship club is on route. No i mean en-route. Who cares, i aint french. I had built up a good squad in the Skrill Prem. Not a lot needed doing. So with some players values going up i figured it was time to make some money.

Wayne Brown, Remember him? £475 signing in the first season, well he was now worth 400k. I sold him for 475k!! What a return. I'm terrible at maths but i'm sure thats like a million percent profit ;) Also i sold a regen for 700k to Hull. In fairness he looked a big bag of Tom Cleverley. So I was not gutted to lose him.

I signed a few free transfers. My biggest signing John Fleck. If you have never signed John Fleck go do it. He is a little magician. Scottish Gazza. Well that might be going a bit far. But all the way to the prem this guy can do a job. FK master, a wand of a left foot and he will give my diamond a bit of balance. Wayne Brown out John Fleck in for around the same money was a no brainer.

After the season started i was offered Chris O'Grady so i moved for him. Clayton Donaldson who i had signed looked like he was not going to cut it in my formation. Gary Martin was still going strong as was Chris Ryan. My favourite signing was a loan from Newcastle. This scottish lad could not sound more scottish if he tried. He may aswell have been called Rab. His name Jordan Gordan. I know... anyways he actually won the best player award at the u20 world cup. So i think he was a major coup.

Squad

View attachment 368781

I'm currently in January 2016 as it stands. I'm 4th. I decided to release Donaldson so that left me with only 3 strikers. So i looked to the top of the league. Hartlepool were sitting 1st. I straight away thought. Luke James ***** enjoy yourself. So 600k spread over 4 years was a bargain. I've had this guy before. If i play him i think he could go for 4/5m. He will just need games. And that is what he's gonna get. Go Red Bulls!!!

I think i might cash in on him. I'm not playing that system but he could offer me a chance to switch it up if needed. He looks like he could become the business.

Chris Ryan

This Hereford Lad. What can i say about him. A lot. I've turned down 5.25m for him already. He maybe young but he is my captain. Last season he wanted to go but in the summer i managed to get him on a 4yr dear. Also with an optional yr if i want to take it. Basically i own the little sod. By about August after Southampton came in he put in a transfer request. He is my captain, so I stuck with him. Just after Christmas the little sod decided he wanted to stay. So that was fine by me. Arsenal are sniffing around so i raised his asking price to 12.5m. I will still turn it down but if the board accept my hands will be tied. This kid is touted as the new Lampard. By who? By me. That's who. "Hey Kid your the next Frank Lampard" He turned to me and said, "No Gaffer I'm the first Chris Ryan" That's my boy.

End of Season Review 2015/2016

View attachment 368732

Luke James turned out to be a fantastic signing and with him rotating with Gary Martin i think i will be fine with those 2 competing for the left hand side of attack next season. Chris O Grady banged in the goals and again i think i will keep him as Back up for next season. My plan is to improve the spine of the team. With a lot of the first teamers becoming the back up players. Chris Ryan continues to dazzle, he maybe might end up the best Regen i have come across if he continues to develop at his current rate. League One is where the **** gets real next season. And i will aim for the playoffs but a top half finish might be more realistic.

Chris Ryan wins everyting else. Even tho the little sod wants to leave again. You got 4 years at least yet buddy. "As they say in Kentucky...Unlucky"

Pre Season 2016/2017

I was being a bit optomistic before. Plans have changed. Have a look at the finaces and squad here lads. I have reached the level the club was set up as. League One. And i would say I'm on an even footing with the likes of MK Dons. The other franchise. So the real work begins. It might take a couple of seasons to get out of league one. Maybe longer. But maybe wonderboy aka Chris Ryan can keep on keeping on. Hopefully can sell David Banks for around 3m and that will really give me a boost.

I want to make a really good fight in League One. I think with the signings that is going to happen. I'm banking on selling David Banks to get some money into the club. So with that in mind a lot of players left on free's so i could get the wages free. That way with so many un-attached players i would not have to spend money on transfer fee's but could afford to strenghten the team by getting the best free players available to me. With that in mind lets introduce you to the new signings.

Fraizer Campbell
View attachment 368668
An England International. Well..that one time. If i was him i would wear that cap everywhere. I hear David Nugent does. In all seriousness Fraizer might be on the decline at 28, i've seen him be useless. However he is meant to be in his prime. So for less than 4k a week i think if i keep him fit could tear the league apart. But if he flops i'm sure I can move him on. A win/win situation.

Shaun Williams
View attachment 368675

I've known about Shaun for a while. If his name comes up I would always be interested. Solid at Championship level and adds balance by being left footed. He can play a bit too. Seen him take free kicks for MK Dons before his move to Milwall. Good signing and automaticaly first choice at CB.

Giuseppie Perotta, Kane Ferdinand, Declan Ruud, Ibrahim Keita

View attachment 368673 View attachment 368672View attachment 368671View attachment 368669

Perotta looks special. I needed to replace Jordan Gordan and then Sammy Lee found me this beast. Unbeleivable Tekkerz. Kane Ferdinand gives Linganzi competion and was very pleased to sign him he'll go staight in the XI. Declan Rudd is a good keeper. Represented England and most levels, Norwich always produce good keepers he just had John Ruddy in his way. Then we get onto Keita. I know a lot about Keita as he has banged them in for Wolves U21's and could make a step up to first team. France U19 player, i think i could make him a star and with a goal on his debut off the bench I might be right. For lower league player Keita is a must buy.

Chris Ryan

View attachment 368666

Just look at the little ******. Rejected 6m in the summer. Scores opening day. I will do everything in my power to keep him. We had some progress after Everton bid 6m he asked why.. i told him they are way off base with the old valuation. He said fine boss no probs. He's maturing before our eyes!!

Season Expectations

I'm looking at top half. We will see but the hardwork has now started. It's on like pong!

The New Rickie Lambert

I was offered 350k for Chris O'Grady by Peterborough. So at 30 i snapped there hands off. I knew who i wanted straight away. If you not seen this lad he is at Plymouth. Football Manager has decided he is the new Rickie Lambert. Similar build and can play the same positions. I got him for 400k but at 21 i think that is a snip. Especially with the O'Grady money. Here he is anyway. And take a look at his debut. Harvey, James, Ryan (sounds like boybands names... Right Direction? lol) look very promising as the front 3 for the next few seasons.

The follow game was just insane. I have 2 fantastic strike partnerships by the looks of it. Martin and Campbell were fantastic together. Look at the follow up game. I was 1-0 down at 60 mins. I brought on Cambell and Martin. Then Chris Ryan turned up. What a boy.

With only spending money on Tyler Harvey i did not expect this. But when you got Chris Ryan chopping down mountains with his left foot you are always going to have a chance. I'm switching between the diamond and the 433 and it is paying dividends. Some of the football played is fantastic. Looks like The Red Bulls could be in The Championship next season after all. Here's a low down of the squad stats going into the new year.

This kid is going to play for England. It's as simple as that. Somehow he's not broke into the U21 squad yet. I'm not sure why. I've got some idea if I'm honest.... That pizza salesman still in charge and he obviously has no idea what he's doing. Southgate. Just like that other pizza salesman so called electrician before him. Pearce. It still makes me sick they ever made money from missing a pen. But i digress... Hopefully by next season he can break into the squad. This kid is the future and the future is now.

This season just keeps getting better and better. Picture the scenario. You're playing your biggest rivals. You're playing your biggest rivals in there backyard. And while your at it ask Bolton fans.

That result on the final day clinched the title. Bolton also got relegated. Talk about a fall from grace. The days of Jay Jay Okocha are long gone.

Chris Ryan is phenomenal have I mentioned that? And Tyler Harvey and Luke James are a great partnership. I got to look to loan Perotta again, he was a brilliant find. I'm going to have to release some of the players that I have had for a long time. Gary Martin I will be gutted to lose but I dont think he will make the step up. Its going to be a long pre season. I have a transfer budget of £0 and around 18k to play with in wages. With some releases I think I can get that up around the 35k mark. Then hopefully with some free transfers and loans build a squad. I signed Junior Hoillet on a free in January and will sell him in the close season to get some money. I know I should be looking to consolidate but... with this team you never know. Skrill North to Premiership within 5 years could be on. However I wont be holding my breath. Establishing ourselves as a championship club is the next step but the dream could become a reality.

Championship August 2017/2018 Season

View attachment 365636

It was a very testing pre season. I managed to get 1.8m in for Hoillet and my board gave me around 10%. However i was 1.8m in debt so that basically helped balance the books. Selling Callumn McGregor and Fraizer Campbell was huge to me. Or so i thought. As that put my transfer budget to a massive 160k. I luckily had some wages to play with so i knew i had to exploit the bosman rule once again.

Luckily my scouting had been expanded so i could get scout reports on foreign players which was a real bonus. My trick of offering trials out on July 1st seems to work well as i managed to get the white Pelle in. No seriously. Remember in 2004 when we thought England had the White Pele. WRONG!

By all acounts this is who Saints want to replace Rickie Lambert with. He's a bit of a goal machine. saw he was on the expiring contract list back last feb so he was automaticaly my number one target. At 31 he adds some needed experience into the squad.

Micheal Ventre

I know nothing about this kid. Seriously. Who is he. He looks like a real talent. And is not a regen. He had been released by Inter and come up on my scouting search. He looks like the real deal. Very very pleased with the deal. Also gives me my 4th striker. James,Harvey,Pelle,Ventre. It's going to be hard to get past Luke James. The engine loves the kid. 21 assists last season and 4 in my first home game this season where i spanked leeds 6-0.

Season 2017/2018 Championship

If Roger Johnson is known as the Relegator. I'm getting known as the Promoter!! I'm so good at promotion, they call me Don King. I expected nothing this season, consolidation.. I had no money to spend. I managed to get some regens come through and signed a couple of Danish ones on the cheap. But maybe that was to the benefit of me and the team. I would say 8 of my first choice XI are from last seasons team and the continuity has been evident as I pulled off a Sally Gunnel as I hit the ground running.

Two Danish regens who cost me around 130k for the pair. Being able to scout scandanavia this season has been a massive help and these are as good as anything i have produced since I had Chris Ryan come through.

Tyler Harvey and Luke James

View attachment 364535View attachment 364534

Seriously, If you are doing a lower league save. Buy these 2 lads. I've talked about Tyler before so lets have a talk about Luke James. Luke James attributes are not the best but he maybe one of the best players I have seen on the engine. Not only does he score goals its his assist ratio aswell. I signed him in league two and he is doing the business in the championship. I've had him before where i did a Brian Clough challenge and had him at Hartlepool. In that save i played 433 and had him up top on his own and scored bucket loads and eventually I took him to Derby. This is the first time i have used him in a two and he has been fantastic. I would say he is my favourite lower league player on FM14. He really is Unbelievable Jeff. His link up play with Chris Ryan (Who broke into the U21's) is phenomenal. If i can steer the team to promotion I really have to stay loyal to Luke. He deserves his chance in the prem. He still remains the club record signing and that was back in the league two days. Top class and a 5 star buy to anybody outside the championship.

English Hero?

"I can be your hero baby. Enrique ****** Iglesias". What a Mantra. This season of consolidation has turned into a promotion bid. And somehow within 5 seasons I have a chance to have a team go from the Skrill North to the Premiership. I actually fully expect to hold our nerve and acheive just that. The diamond works so well it really is performing miracles. The clubs finances are in a bit of a state and i'm just about breaking even. So promotion can set us up for years. And hopefully i can start expanding the stadium etc for extra revenue. It stands at 12500 but it can go up to 40000. I think if that does happen we could be playing somewhere else next season. But I'm getting a bit ahead of myself. However after this strong start to this season it's time to finish the job and get to the prem.
