Torcida is the fan club of the Croatian football team, Hajduk Split. Formed back in 1950, the Torcida is the oldest organized support group in Europe. Torcida's rivals are the Bad Blue Boys, supporting Dinamo Zagreb.Torcida are considered one of the most dangerous supporter groups in the world and are known for their vocal and physical intimidation at football matches. Torcida (Hajduk Split)use flares to intimidate their opponents and in matches throw flares or light up flares: When Hajduk Split scores a goal or when the match starts and ends.

In the season 2001, Goran Ivanišević was registered for Hajduk as player.

On the 31st of May, the Split based club Hajduk, has announced Goran Ivanišević as their new manager.

Dario Zahora signs 3-year-contract for Hajduk Split

Dario Zahora, former Dinamo Zagreb player...signed for Hajduk Split as free transfer. Assistant manager, Igor Tudor said that Zahora would probably be backup player. Zahora also played for Rosenborg, Interblock, Domzale , Slaven Belupo, Koper and Sesvete .

Scottish giant, Celtic .... is interested in Hajduk Split attacking midfielder Senijad Ibričić. Goran Ivanišević : Yes, I talked with Tony Mowbray and they are interesting in buying Ibričić. But they don't have that kind of money which I want for Ibro. After all, he is our Key Player. Ibričić recently signed new 4-year-contract and he is happy at Poljud.

Pre-season went better than expected !!!

As in every pre-season, results are not so important. The most important thing is to see how the team fit and improve their approach to work. Coach Ivanišević should be happy because his team won every game this pre-seaon. Hajduk - Hajduk Under 19s 4:0 ( 01.06.2009 ) , Hajduk - Nedelisce 8:0 ( 23.06.2009 ) , Hajduk - Moslavina 4:1 ( 01.07.2009 ) , Hajduk - Veroia 2:0 ( 04.07.2009 ), Hajduk - Sakaryaspor 3:1 ( 07.07.2009 ), Friendly Cup, Poljud-Split..---->Hajduk - Gladbach 1:0 ( 09.07.2009 ), Hajduk - Brasov p3:3 (10.07.2009 ) and Hajduk - Dugopolje 3:1 ( 11.07.2009 ). Most of these games are against small clubs, but there are 2 great games versus Gladbach and Brasov. In both games Hajduk came out victorious and they were better in every part of the game.

Third qualifying round draws Hajduk against Norwegian TromsØ !!!

Croatian club Hajduk Split was drawn against Norwegian TROMSØ. Hajduk had great preparation for this season, and excellent results in pre-season. The question is, will they succeed to pass against Norwegians, who are playing very solid football. First game is 30th of July at Poljud, Split.

Ibričić brilliant in August. Hajduk no luck! ( August Report )

Hajduk began this month with away match against Cibalia. Only one little mistake from Hajduk defense was enough to get punished by Cibalia in 89th minute. After that heavy game, Bili took a trip to Norway, where will play against Tromsø. Hajduk won that match, as expected...not easy, 1-0 for Croatian club and they are through next round . Next match was against Lokomotiva in Zagreb,and that finished 2-2, with great comeback from home team. Another heavy match in their schedule, against the Swiss Basel. We've witnessed the match that took place in only one direction. Hajduk won by 4-0 at Poljud, Split. That could end up much worse for the Swiss if their goalkepper wasn't fantastic. Whole team was tired after Basel game, and we could expect hard game against Slaven Belupo . Match finished 1-1 in Koprivnica . Basel won second match by 2-1 and Hajduk is through to Group Stage. Last game of the month was against Zadar. In that game we saw very poor version of Hajduk Split, final result was 1-1.

Manager thoughts in August :

I cannot be happy with this month, only because we are performing well only in Europe. In domestic League we are awfull and I expect more from my team. On the other side, I'm very proud with Basel game, especially on Poljud. We could win 6 or 7-0 against best Swiss club, that makes me happy for this month.And I think that our football ( in Croatia ) is improved since last year.

Hajduk suffers unexpected defeat !!! ( September Report )

After great start of the month against Sesvete, Hajduk had no luck and knowledge in Euro Cup to win, in away match. They had 2-0 lead, and after mistake from Danijel Subašić...everything collapsed and they lost 3-2 . After long and very very exhausting trip they won match in HNL very easy. 4-0 against Medjimurje, and next match is against Lokomotiva in Cup. Another away game for Bili, and they managed to win this game...but they needed 120 minutes for that. Last game in September was against Zagreb away. Once more, away match and they won this one also, by 1-0.

This month you could see our improvements on the field. I'm happy with every game expect one against Rosenborg. We played great, but in second half...we didn't stay focused and it has cost us. I'm not angry on my team because of that, only sad.

Dinamo keep running away, Ivanišević wants to catch them ! ( October Report )

After great last month in domestic league, can Hajduk repeat that results? And turn them positive in Europe also...First game was against Dinamo Moscow, altough Hajduk dominated whole game..they didn't succeed to win, match ended as 1-1 . 3 days later, one more game at Poljud...this time in league against Istra 1961...winning streak continue in league, but in Europe...again, no luck for Bili . After easy home match against Istra, they had hard game in Osijek. History of unpleasant games in Gradski vrt, but this time Hajduk won 2-1. After Osijek, Hajduk packs for long trip to Holland, heavy match against Ajax is waiting for them. Heavy match and heavy defeat for Hajduk...3-0 win for home team. Influence of that match brought new drop of points for Hajduk, this time at home against Inter Zapresic. Game ended as draw, 0-0. Last game this month is in Croatian Cup against Varteks on Poljud. Hajduk have won by 2-0 .

I must admit that I am upset with results this month, after August...this happens. Maybe this is end for us in Europe, we need to win Ajax and Rosenborg to stay alive. And about HNL, I'm satisfied and I can understand my players for bad result against Inter Zaprešić. After all, 3 days before that...we played hardest game this season . If we want more, we must show lot lot more than this.

Great run from Bili, Dinamo defeated !!! ( November report )

Last three months, Hajduk had changing form ... This month, everything goes perfect for them. First game was against Karlovac, away. They have won that match by 3-0 . 4 days, 4 hour and 45 minutes later...Hajduk have decisive match in Europe against Ajax Amsterdam on Poljud .Once again, an excellent game on which you can find out below. 3 days after that game, Ivanišević had a opportunity to give chance to his reserve squad again . 2 leg match in Cup against Rijeka on Poljud ended as draw, 2-2...Rijeka scored in last minutes of the game. Another hard match after Rijeka, this time against Šibenik, away. Hajduk won that game easily by 4-0 . Amazing game here on the Poljud, you can find out the result below. After Ajax game, another home match, against Varteks again . Hajduk won that easily by 3-0. Next on schedule was Croatian Cup Qtr. Final game against Rijeka, away. Incredible, Ivanišević decided to gamble in that game and he puts his reserve squad, and Hajduk won that match with 4-0, simply amazing !!! Again...this time in HNL, decisive match against Dinamo Zagreb. This time Hajduk will play important game in away, on Maksimir.

Manager thoughts in November :

This is what I wanted from my players since I came in this club. I can't be more proud on them after these few games. First Ajax, then Rijeka with reserves...and after that Dinamo on Maksimir. If we continue like this, we can win against Rosenborg and go survive in Europe, and we can win domestic league, altough Dinamo is on 6-points from us.

Hajduk have done it !!! ( December Report )

Hajduk have begin this month with great win against Rosenborg, which brings them on second place in Group I. Three days later, Hajduk had home match against Lokomotiva ( Zg ) which they won 4-0. Again...three days later they have game on Poljud against Rijeka, and they have won that match by 2-0 . First part of domestic league is over and last match before few days of rest is against Dinamo Moscow in Uefa Europe League. They lost that game unfortunately, but on their fortune...Ajax won game in Norway against Rosenborg, and Hajduk is through.

I can't be more proud on my players after last month, and the game against Rosenborg, Lokomotiva and Rijeka. We have lost match in Moscow, but only because we didn't have luck. In that game many first-team players were injured but never mind. We are through and I want to thank to Ajax, because they gave 100% of them in that game and they saved us . Unfortunately, we have been drawn against great team, but in football everything is possible.

Five transfers in January and preparation for Porto game ! ( January Report )

Hajduk began this month with two great signings. They managed to bring back Goran Sablić on Poljud for £1.7M and another great move for the 'Bili' was bringing goalkepper Vincent Enyeama for £950K. After that, they have decide to sell some players, and they managed to sell four reserve players. After that, great news from Poljud...Hajduk signed 23-year-old Ghanaian midfielder from Rosenborg, Anthony Annan. That was the record transfer
fee ever payed for Croatian club. Hajduk payed £3.5M for Rosenborg midfielder, and he wasn't enough for them. Goran Ivanišević sent his scout to Slovenian domestic league, and few days later...great news from Slovenia. Maribor has accepted their £750K worth offer for Croat midfielder Dejan Skolnik. Another young player is on the way to Poljud, Besart Abdurahimi from Zagreb signed for Hajduk Split for excatly £550K.

Manager Thoughts in January :

I'm happy with these transfers because I had a chance to follow every player except Skolnik. Danijel Subašić is unhappy here on the Poljud because he wants move to bigger clubs and I think Enyeama is great replacement for him. Of course, Danijel is still here because matches in Europe. About Annan transfer, I don't know what to say...it has left me surprised, because we have never expect that Rosenborg will sold one of their best players for that kind of money.

Luck ?!?! or not ... ( February Report )

The February month has began with spectacle against Porto, at Poljud . That game was very hard and you can find about it down.Three days later, another hard challenge for the Bili..and they have won that game. It was against Cibalia at Poljud, and Hajduk won that match by 1-0. Then, the day of decision....Hajduk is going to Portugal, and the great match was played on Estadio do Dragao. The begining matches in second part of the season went very well for Hajduk.

On day 7th of February, Vahid Halilhodžić is sacked from Ivory Coast. There are few candidates for this job, but if you don't follow football news all around the world, these names ( except one ) will be unknown for you. There is one name you definetly know, and that name is Zinedine Zidane who is favorite to take over Ivory Coast bench. Besides Zidane, there are few solid managers/coachs like Goran Ivanišević from Hajduk Split, Jan van Dijk from VVV-Venlo, Stefano Colantuono from Torino and Christian Gourcuff from Lorient. Excatly seven days later, Ivory Coast have announced their new coach and his name is GORAN IVANIŠEVIĆ.

I can't believe that Ivory Coast decide to try with me on this World Cup. There are some great managers who were interested in this job and they picked me. I can't be more grateful to them, and I promise that i'll do everything I can on World Cup, and before him to prepare this great team. Before everything, I must say...I'm honored to work with such great names in this team as Yaya Toure, Kolo Toure, Salomon Kalou, Gervinho, Emmanuel Eboue, Romaric and of course the captain.... Didier Drogba.My first game on this bench will be against Faroe Islands on 3rd of March.

The miracle has happened !!!

In unbelieveable match on Dragao, Hajduk managed to stay level with the Portugal giant. Match started as everyone have expected....Porto took a lead in 30th minute, and that was pretty special way from the Hulk to begin celebration at Dragao. Few seconds before half time, shock on Dragao ! Anas Sharbini have equalised in 45+8 and Hajduk is through with that result. The moment which decided this game was red card in 63rd minute. Dante was shown second yellow card and he must leave the pitch. Until the end of the game, Porto really tried to win match, but because great concentration of Hajduk players, they didn't allow them any dangerous chances. Shock on Dragao, and Hajduk is through. Next match will be against Italian Genoa, if they have won against Porto...they surely can do it again .

Manager thoughts in February :

Amazing, I'm absolutely delighted with Euro Cup matches against Porto. We showed that we are not just some club which went through the group by accident. Incredible thing is how the Porto underestimated us, and we decided to use that. And about Cibalia game, we should be more convincing in the HNL games because we are much better then Cibalia, Dinamo, Rijeka or anyone else. We showed that, and only if we continue with this form..that will repay to us on end of season.
