Hey there all i have been playin the FM brands now for some time, and the most common tatic used on this version (as well as the opening rounds of this years WC) was the 4-5-1. How ever i have tryed it many times, and I just cant get it to work for me.

I play as Doncaster Rovers and im currently in my 2nd season, still in the CCC. I have tried using some of the 4-5-1 tatics that have been posted already on these forums. Though it is clear that they are mainly set up for high end clubs in the premiership as well as the gaints over in other countrys.

I was wonderin how would be the best way to set the tatic up for lower league teams such as mine that it will work effectivly for me. As a common message i keep gettin from my assistant during half time is that my attackers are out numbered by the opositions defence.

So the things that im looking for advice wise are:-
  • Philosphy
  • playing style
  • General instructions (Def line ect)

Any advice or knowledge you have would be really appreciated

    thanks

im in my 2nd season at the moment with burton, won promotion and chasing for play offs in league 1 at the moment using 4-5-1 formation.

Defence is just nornal, but for my midfield i have

DM (defend)
CM (box to box) CM ( support )
AMR ( Winger Attack) AML ( Winger Attack)

ST (Poacher)

Works wonders for me but its vital you have a good DM and make sure your mentality isnt too attacking as all your players infront of your DM will be out of the game. But this formation is great for lower teams to create alot of chances from midfield.

You have to set your lone striker to Deep-Lying Forward hence allowing them to drop deeper and link up with the midfield, that way they wont be outnumbered, your Wingers will play higher up the pitch than your strikers
