How come players always want a higher salary to play for me?

This seems to be consistent for me over all of my saves in fm14... It doesn't matter if I start a save with Bayern, Frankfurt, Stuttgart Kickers, or whatever. When negotiating with players they always want a ridiculous salary. Then they sign with a team in my division for much lower. I was trying to get an 21 year old on a free on my squad, but he wanted 10k when I was negotiating. (playing as Saarbruecken, got promoted to the 2nd division). Ended signing with a freaking regionalliga side (4th division) for 4.4k a week. Agent wouldn't take anything less than 8k, and as a newly promoted squad I can't afford that much, even for a key player. Had to let a majority of my squad go too, because they wanted bloated contracts that my wage bill won't allow.

How do I fix this? Is this just a handicap for human players?

Might be because you are big team so they might want big salaries too

Ive had it where a player has wanted say 150k and won't accept any lower, so I reject it and look for someone else.

Few days later he signs for another team having accepted 70k and less bonuses

i normally have that issue but on my southampton save javi garcia wanted 140k :O but i managed to get him to accept a 70k wage
