How do you enter the Champions league best places play off?

Well I finished 4th in the prem with MK DONS on my 8th season in charge and got in the champ league best placed play off, How do you qualify because i thought only the top 3 teams get into the champ league?

By finishing 4th. The top three teams go straight through to the group stages.
