How do you play against a team with a 4-4-2 formation

Sorry, the topic title is perhaps unclear

I mean if your oppenent has 4-4-2, what tactics should you use?

What is 4-4-2's weakness?

I've spent ages searching on Google and I did not find anything helpful.

Try any formation with 4 central midfielders(4-1-2-1-2 diamond, 4-1-3-2 with 1 CDM and 3 CM's etc). You need to have great full-backs though.

I've had great success playing a 451(41221) against them! I man mark the center mids and fbs while my dm helps breaking down attacks in my third and my team dominates possession!

Midfield is obviously the weak point, use that to your advantage.

However, if you play a formation with AML/AMR then you must be wary of the threat possessed by the wingers. They have too much space between your wingers and full backs, make your sure FB's close the wingers down.

As for tactic, no-one will be able to give you a tactic to be a specific formation. Use the advice in this thread (formations and marking the mids) and you should beat it no problem.
