They've always been important. Good way to eliminate a threat or force more errors in a specific part of the pitch. When playing a possession tactic I like to pressure their defence and put them on their weaker foot so that they are forced to just knock a 50/50 ball into the midfield where I can win it. Other times I tight mark an AMC and pressure lone wide men.
