hey guys, just wondering if you was to sign over a certain amount of players would it disrupt the squad harmony. i was napoli (sugar daddy) and in my first season i got them to finish 2nd. then with me bein in the champions league i decided to get rid of all the average and aging players and replace them with players who are better and younger. however i currently find myself 15th in the league mid october and cant pick up a win to save my life. so just wondering how many players you reccomend signing every window and how long do players take to settle in? thanks.

for the first eleven you shouldn't buy more than 3 or 4 but if they are backups or wonderkids it doesn't matter unless you play them together all the time and please assure that you don't do like me and replace all of your key players/positions in your tactic or if you have to replace them replace them for an players with the same personalities and that talk the language of the country that you are managing in and they should adapt fast and if you can buy players that already play in your country because they are already settled in the country

It depends what team I'm at. At a poor lower league team I sometimes buy a whole squad on frees but at a top-flight club, I rarely make more then 4 signings who will go straight into the first-team

However many I need to strengthen my squad.

Sometimes it could be a whole new team, or a little bit extra quality here and there with a couple of promising youngsters being signed on.

Basically depends on your team and the league as everyone said. Probably should of sold most of your team off as Napoli in the second year, but in the first. Plus depending on what players you bring in (if they are from Brazil and you are Italy) they might have some trouble fitting in or get homesick. Most of my new guys I buy are always homesick so I let them leave to gather their thoughts then they are fine. I never try to sell off more than 4 people a year or buy more than 4 people a year especially at a big club. I am a huge club in Iceland and I only buy at least 1 person a year. Although about 6 years ago I did sell off 7 of my starters for 180 million and bought 7 new guys for 120 million. While they were younger and better it took about a year and a half to actually pay dividends. I mean it was easy to win the league with that team in Iceland, but got bounced out of the Champs league in the knockout stage. Took 3 years to get my team playing well. The last three years I have been unstoppable and won three straight Champs Leagues.

But once you get the squad getting use to everyone you should be fine. Even if you do poorly for half a year or so it will pay off big later.

If I have a starting 11 that are working well togethor I only replace if one of my players is sold, usuly I sign around 5 or 6.

Usually 1st season I could sign 3 first teamers and 2 back ups depending on the squad. After that i tend to try only sign 1 first teamer and 2 back ups a season to keep the squad balanced. IF i sell good players though i make sure to replace them

First few seasons, concentrate on improving the first team, buying experience and players of around 22-25, after i've got my first team sorted, i concentrate purely on youth players, gradually bringing them into the first team.

1) unlimited youngsters, straight into reserves or U/18's (well depending on budget, league, club)

2) only key area's that need filling in

3) good backups for weak positions

I have bought up to 21 players before, sometimes I buy only 1 or 2, it all depends mate, but as choices mentioned, if you make drastic changes it is going to take a while for them to come into effect..

you should sell the two oldest/worst first team players and replace them straight up, the next year, sell the next to oldest/worst first team players and replace them.. no more than 2 1st team changes per year in my opinion!

having a pool of good youngsters helps as they provide good cover and over the year or two on loan or playing reserves they pick up the language, have favoured personal through tutoring, get used to the tactic (click use same tactic for both reserves and U/18's) so instead of buying these 1 or 2 first team players each year, you will have them coming through your youth squad and can use the rest of the cash to reinvest in your club :)

Now that is how you do it Wegner :P

I don't think I've ever went through a window without adding at least one player (youth or first team). Even if I have a fantastic squad, I always want to add a bit of freshness with a new player.

I always buy every transfer window but it's always young players with potential. And if their potential is above 3 stars in my scout reports I'll have them breaking into my First squad in the future.

Otherwise, I rarely buy first team players. Maybe if desperate I'll buy 1 but never an experieneced wonderkid. £8m+ is too expensive because it depends on the season profits, I only made £35m in profit as Arsenal a season so that was my budget. It took me a while to agree for Pastore on £10.5m because it went against my style of buying.

Best bet it, to get players for the First team then it should be youth players. Cheap and good.

Selling wise, there is no limit. I get rid of any player who I don't need or is declining. I could have 5 outs and 1 in. But reserves and U18 will fill the gaps.

First season I just go for it and replace pretty much everyone that needs replacing.
From then on once the team is back up and running I just focus on youngsters and if anyone good pops up on the transfer market or for cheap I may get them.

At the start I buy as much quality that I can/that is needed. Then from each window onwards just one or two.

I know it sounds sensible to keep the number of purchases down in the name of squad unity and possible 'blending' problems, but this last mid-season I bought in 26 at Hull City and shipped out 27, and we're now top after 11 games. We've just been flying, so maybe the theory and practice are different?

i usually sell more than i buy tbh, i try and trim my squad every window then use that money to make a decent signing. Try to only make 1 or 2 so i dont disrupt or make anyone unhappy.
