how to arrange for friendly matches before seasons start?

I generally leave that to my assistant to arrange them

No you have to do this through the Team Options screen, i would arrange friendlies but I prefer to play around with buying players etc. I take control of the friendly matches as this gives me the opportunity to play around with formations etc.

its the calendar (dunno if you say it like that) between new and players is shift plus c in default mode. I don't know if I can be more precise, its in the little bar where you click for training and all that ****.
