How to arrange friendly matches (no data available to plan)

Hi,

I'm hitting end of the second season with FC Zwolle (Netherlands).
How can I arrange a lot of friendly matches, before the competition start?

Because:
After the 1st season I could only arrange 2 friendly matches.
Only 1 week or so was available for arranging matches.
All other dates were not available.

I played one match right after end of season one.
The second was a week before the competition started.

Background info:
Like the total squad was new and young, most did not have any contract.
Most are 19-22, and this is without the youngsters.
Because they didn't play together before, and didn't had match rhythm.

Result:
The first 33% of the competition was absolute drama, and they played horrible, like amateurs.
Like there was no oil to feed the engine.
Was last with only 5 points after like 11 matches.

The good:
* FC Zwolle is at the 3rd place, and 9 points behind first place.
* 7 Matches left.

So, I really need to have a lot of friendly matches to get them ready for the competition.
And I need some new players, because 2 important players will leave FC Zwolle.


I really hope someone can help me on this <)

You have to wait until after you have finished your current season. Once that's done, wait a few weeks and you should be able to start arranging pre-season friendlies for the upcoming campain.

Thanks, but did I missed something then?

I completed the first season, and after I was able to arrange pre-season friendlies.
But this period was just 2 weeks?
One week just after the first season.
One week just before the second season?

Can this happen?

How much pre-friendlies are common?

Checked options in-game, but I can't find a solution to make the data available...

So now, I let my assistant manager arrange it, but I'm still looking for a solution.

Check when you start - if you start the game in holland too late you won't have enough time. I think it default to the England start date which is 1 month after the Eredivisie preseason start date.

Other things
- check your players are available and not on holidays you will get a message that the players are due to return on x date
- check that you are in the correct year
- check that there are no international competitions which affects scheduling. WC's and Euro championships tend shorten preseason I think

After reading your post and the other post again, I think that is it!
I was probably too early or too late to arrange this.
Now I'm playing after season for promotion, so I got time after to arrange friendly matches.
