how to get 3d view back

so for most of my games i just go to the "split view" tabs with the match speed up as fast as possible and just watch shots on target etc. but id like to watch a 3d match,however i cant seem to find the option. the best ive gotten so far is on the "tv view" but its still the circles, the 3d option isnt there. how do i turn it back on?

go to preferences, then display and sound. is this box ticked?

I have tried that and the box is ticked, but it still doesn't seem or want to play in 3D mode!
