How to keep a youngster ?

Hi.

I have an extremely talented lad in my youth team. He is now 15 and Bayern, Madrid and Dortmund are interested in him. Is there any way to prevent them from snapping him out of my team during the transfer window? I offered him a professional contract and he agreed to sign it in 2016 (now I'm in 2014). This is my best regen ever since FM12 so I really want to keep him.

If he has signed a pre-contract at your club, other clubs shouldn't be able to steal him from you.
 
Really? Didn't know that. I hope they won't steal him.
 
They can't approach him without you accepting their bids.
But the biggest thread is that he is going to be unsettled. Especially if he has high ambition and low loyalty.
So besides signing him on a youth contract, you have to nurture and keep him happy :)

I like to also add in a 3 year optional contract on all my players. Actually I make it mandatory... all my top youth prospects have that in their contract.

So essentially they're going to be on about 1k / week for about 8 years. MUAHAHAHAHAHA.
