How to promote a thread

I'm relatively new to this forum and have set up a few threads and tactics
But, am struggling to get that many posts on them. So I thought I would set up a thread in order to show how to promote a thread. Please post anything which will help promoting threads and I'll add it to the OP.

So far I have...

1) Link thread in your Signature, possibly in spoilers for intrigue!!!

2) Enticing title
