When i'm playing FM, every half an hour or so, my laptop will overheat and turn itself off. The bottom of the laptop gets really hot.

I know it could be because the laptop just might not be able to run it properly, but I was wondering if there is anything I can change in preferences, like graphics quality, etc, that will make FM easier to run on the laptop, so that it will crash less?

I think you can turn off 3d match view in preferences/graphics and lower settings, but to be honest it sounds like your laptop is the problem, try going to power options in windows and change the power plan to power saver, this will reduce processor speeds, graphics options and you'll notice your fans coming on less...your laptop will be slower but wont be over stressing itself...may help!

Ok m8, your problem is pretty common. When you play FM is your laptop sitting on a flat surface? If not, that's the problem, your cooler is full of dust and not running properly, causing your system to overheat. Try using a fan, in order to clear your cooler, and put a book under your laptop when playing. Another solution, is to buy an external cooling pad(the one I use is working miracles).

^ That also, ALWAYS put a laptop on a flat surface, if you have it on your lap the heat can't escape and will therefore remain inside which will overheat, this can also damage components inside the laptop.
