Not sure if this should be in here or in the tactics discussions but the thing is that I want to start a new save managing Arsenal when the next LFCMarshall update comes out on 18th august and I want to play with three in defense.

I'm not sure if or who i'll buy in the first season so i'm just gonna stick with the real first team at first.
I'll probably sell Sagna or retrain him as a DC and I'll probably sell Gibbs in the summer and Andre Santos in january.

What 3-man-defense formation should I use? I want Giroud and Podolski to lead the attack cause there won't be any f*cktard called van Persie and I want Cazorla to be the brain of the team.

Should I play with 3-4-3 or 3-5-2? And if so what where would you recommend my players to me positioned across the field and with what player roles?

Would be grateful for some tips so I won't **** up my team as I did the last time I tried to use 3 in defense with Arsenal.

maybe 3 centre backs then a DM 2 cms 1ball winner and an DLP and 3 a winger on right and left and an advanced playermaker in middle of them 2(carzola) then giroud up front play short passin balanced and control should be okay if gret hardworkin players

Yeah that sounds good, think i'll need to bring in one more dc because Mertesacker is too slow when compared to Verma and Kosc

alex song buy wanyama from celtic hes cheap or go for lucas zen or something

Personally I feel 3 at the back works best with a sweeper. Further to that, I think WBs work far better than defensive or offensive wingers/widemen. I would reccomend buying Vertonghen, or retrain a DM that can defend really well (and is relatively tall 6ft+) such as Busquets or Romeu if he develops well.

Vertonghten plays for Tottenham so this won't work. I think you should keep Sagna (as WBR or MR) Andre Santos on the left. Then you should buy M'Vila, if Song is already gone and play him as Anchor Man, behind Arteta. 3 AMs Podolski, Cazorla, Gerinho or 2 AMs and Giroud

Yeah but M'Vila would be expensive? And I need another defender I think so most of my budget would go on M'Vila

2 limited stopper CBs 1 Ball playing cover CB 2 WB-Attack in WB slot, 1 DM as Anchor Man 1 CM as Deep Lying Playmaker Support 1 AM as Adv. Playmaker Attack and Giroud as Target Man-Attack and Podolski Poacher but I'm no expert so this might not work but this would make sense to me as it is balanced but no guarantees. Selling some of your wingers but not Chamberlain will let you get players like M'vila and Fellaini.
