Richard Dunne’s first match in management ended in a heavy defeat as West Ham kept their dreams alive of playing European Football next season.
The home side dominated possession from the start of the match. And it was they, who created some of the best chances in a first half that ended with the score at 0-0.
Five minutes after the restart, West Ham eventually opened the scoring when not for the first time Dimitri Payet found himself in behind the Bournemouth defence after linking up well with both Andy Carroll and Alex Song. This time there was no mistake.
Bournemouth levelled the match on the 63rd minute, when West Hams Andrew Cresswell turned the ball into his own net while attempting to defend Benik Afobe’s shot.
It didn’t take long for West Ham to respond. Two minutes later, substitute Kouyate got on the end of Victor Moses cross to the far post to instantly put West Ham back in front.
West Ham sealed the victory four minutes from the end of the match when substitute Antonio headed in Creswell’s in-swinging free-kick. As the match entered injury time, West Ham scored once more. Antonio turned provider as his cross from the right was turned in at the near post by another substitute Emenike.

Richard Dunne’s first home match in charge of Bournemouth ended in disappointment as his team failed to pick up the maximum points they so desperately crave at this stage of the season.

Bournemouth took the lead after 25 minutes, when Afobe linked up well with Max Gradel and Glenn Murray to slot home from inside the box, to delight their home fans.

2 minutes before half-time, Southampton’s Steven Davis got in behind the Bournemouth defence, and saw his shot saved by the on rushing Bournemouth goalkeeper Federici.

With the game entering injury time of the first-half, Max Gradel cut in, onto his right foot and hit a shot that was comfortably saved by Forster in the Southampton goal.

Southampton equaliser came on the 63rd minute, when good build up play resulted in an in-swinging cross from left midfielder Davis, that was turned in by central midfielder Wanayama in the box.

Southampton began to put pressure on, and almost scored when substitute Rodriguez shot hit the post and came back out for Distin to clear down the pitch.

With both sides pushing for a winner, a late chance came for Bournemouth in the 91st minute, Afobe this time seeing his shot saved.

When the final whistle went, there was an eerie silence around the Dean Court ground. The fans know that they now face an uphill struggle to stay in this division.

Richard Dunne today returned to his former club Manchester City as manager, but was unable to derail their title challenge, as City claimed a valuable 2-1 victory over Bournemouth.

As was to be expected, City dominated possession from the start against the bottom side. After 15 minutes played, the first real chance fell to City when Aguerro cut in from the left onto his right and forced Bournemouth keeper to make a fine save to his left that went out for a corner that was cleared away.
Eventually City got the breakthrough they were looking for on the 34th minute. Good play from Clichy and Delph eventually found its way to an unmarked Silva to stroke it to the net on his left foot.
City doubled their lead six minutes later through Silva again after the ball broke to him after Elphicks last ditch tackle on Aguerro.

Bournemouth responded admirably in the second-half when they scored just after the restart through a corner. Afobe reacting faster than Joe Hart to head it in off the underside of the bar after Distin had met Ritchies in swinging corner and directed the ball towards goal.
Afobe then had Bournemouth’s best chance to equalise on the 74th minute, when Murray put him clean through on goal with only the goalie to beat. His shot blazed wide.
