Turkish Cup Group B Game 6.
We drew 0-0 against Manisaspor. This was a hard fought draw where we had nine men, because Mehmet Topal got sent off and Melvyn Lorenzen got injured. We had a few chances to score a goal, but we failed to take our chances. Our defense was solid though. Manisaspor had some very good chances and they failed to score too.
We move on to the next game and hopefully we can get some positive results.
Game no. 18 in the Turkish League
We drew 1-1 against Alanyaspor. We created a lot of chances against them. Walid Azarou scored for them first. Then towards the end of the game, Marcus Berg scored the equalizer through a great header which went into the back of the net. A draw was a fair result here. We move on to the next game.
Game no. 19 in the Turkish League
We won 2-0 against Gaziantepspor. This was a very good win for us. Ozan Tufan returned to the team after a long time and scored on his return through a really good header from a corner. Also Marcus Berg scored a good goal to make it 2-0 and finish the game off. We showed our quality today. Attack wise, we were solid. Defensively also we were solid and our midfield controlled the game. We move on to the next game and hopefully we continue to pick up good results.
Turkish Cup 4th Round
We lost 2-0 to Rizespor. Vincenzo Rennella scored the first goal to help them get ahead and then Jakob Jantscher scored through a wonderful free kick in the second half. They played very well and had a lot of chances. And we got knocked out of the cup fair and square. Our attack was toothless, we did not create enough chances and we paid the price in the end.
Game no. 20 in the Turkish League
We lost 1-0 to Adanaspor. This was not a good game and we played poorly. Rai scored the goal for them to help them win the game. We barely had any chances to score ourselves and we did not create enough. Hopefully in the next few games we can pick up our performances and get better results. We move on to the next game.
Game no. 21 in the Turkish League
We beat Kasimpasa 2-0. Terence Kongolo scored the opening goal for us through a great header. And then Diego Morales scored a goal in the second half to finish the game off. Our attack was excellent. Our defense was solid and our midfield controlled the game. What a good win for us and hopefully we can continue having good results like this.
Game no. 22 in the Turkish League
We drew 1-1 against Osmanlispor. Daley Sinkgraven scored the opening goal in the first half and then Raul Rusescu scored an equalizer in the second half to make sure that the game is a draw. We had a few chances but did not do enough to take them. We move on to the next game and we need to perform and pick up good results.
Game no. 23 in the Turkish League
We lost 2-0 to Galatasaray. This was a very bad loss. Lukas Podolski scored first for them and then towards the end of the game Bruno Gomes added a second to help them seal the win. We were very poor in attack and we defended poorly. We looked devoid of ideas and creativity in the game and we have to improve in the future. We move on to the next game.
