I need major help!!!!

me and my mates are attempting to start a network game and when one of us starts a new game and then gives the ip address out its saying at their end "cant connect to server" and ive set my computer as the server and all that ****.

then its closing our games down then when we try to go back on it wont let us unless we restart the computer.

one of the lads games wont load up at all now.

can anyone help us at all?

ermm.... right do one thing for me get both of you open up command prompt then type in ipconfig this will show your IP now enter this IP.

ill try that but theres one problem, whats the command prompt? i sound like a massive idiot i know but me and my mate dont have a scooby doo when it comes to things like this.

To get to your command prompt:

Start, All Programs, Accessories, Command Prompt.

Hope it works for you, I've had the same problem. Looks like you might need to use something called Hamachi - I'm looking into it.
