World Cup Special 2010
With the whole nation backing one of the strongest England teams in years, the hope were high for Cappelo and his team. With an easy group, England were big favourites to reach the knockout rounds. England didn't dissapoint and cruised through top of the group (unbeaten).
All was looking rosy for Cappelos men when they were drawn up against a perhaps some would say weak Russian side, Russia posed a threat but surely a big reilef for the whole of Britain by avoiding the likes of Brazil or Spain.
What happened next noody knows! Englands men Cup dream were over following a 1-0 defeat to Hiddink and his men.( Still manager of them on the game, not sure about real life) Tottenhams Pavlyuchenko scoring the only goal in added time of the first half!
A number of huge shocks in the second round with alot of big teams going down to weaker opponents. Brazil, Spain ,Germany and Holland all dumped out of the tournement.
France and Argentina the big giants left in, Surely one fo them must win it, But no both teams dumped out before they could reach the final. The final was a shock to the whole world, Russia vs Ivory coast.
A quick fire double at the end of the first half was enough to give Hiddink a well earned Cup, Although Drogba pulled on back before the end, It wasn't enough and Russia were Champions! At least we can say we lost to the best
