Team: LFC
Formation: 4-3-3

LCB CD defend - Agger
RCB CD defend - Skrtel
RB full back support - Johnson
LCM BWM defend - Lucas Leiva
RCM BBM - Henderson

F9 - Suarez

team institutions:
hassle oopponents
pass shorter
Work ball into box
retain posession
play out of defence

Since the new patch I have had no success with my previous tactic which is the same as this one except there's a diff between some player roles( Suarez was an advance forward, Henderson DLP, full backs were complete WB's ) Was wondering is there anything I should add to this tactic to make it better!?

i know I could just test it but I'm sick of testing and failing miserably, I don't want a plug and play tactic I just want one where my players don't play like school children.

I also have no luck with liverpool tried everything

actually had decent success with liverpool using my tiki taka formation, it's on the forum. But when the game starts, liverpool have a team made for the 4-3-3, anything else means buying new players and getting used to a new system and that'll take time to get used too. plus it is an attacking tactic, so lose the possession related things, go higher tempo, more direct passing etc.

Looks fine, there are a few 4-5-1 /4-3-3 on the site that use pretty much the same formation and layout, ust look under any thread name of tika or taka, and no doubt it'll be that formation and style of play, barring a few no striker variations.

Thanks guys! I have used the one with no striker but found that too inconsistent and I don't like being limited to buying strikers who have to also play AM, or training them either so will try the above!

I think it's not good at all. You have 5 (!) players that are going to operate in the same are of the pitch.

BBM will interrupt the AP, then IFs will cut inside where the AP sits and then F9 will drop back in the area when - again - AP sits. Moreover, your wings are very predictable.

Using F9 is good when he is the only striker, now when he has AP behind him, I'd suggest you change his role to AF. Then wings. Two IFs on attack and two FBs on support. Both wings are the same -> both wings are predictable. Try to change one of the players to a winger on support or attack duty. Depending on what you choose, the other player should have the opposite duty. So, if you gonna use the right winger on attack, then it's good idea to use the left IF on support, and the other way round. Now defenders. You have no attacking movement at all. Set one of the fullback on attack duty. Your attacking fullback should be on the side of supporting player on the wing. So if you have AMR winger support, then use FBR or even WBR on attack. Note that you should have you BWM on the side of the attacking fullback.

The tactic you posted is very predictable and static, try to use more attacks from the deep.

Thanks dude that's so helpful, going to try this now!

1 more question, should i change BBM to DLP? (Henderson)

If you gonna use AP support I would use DLP instead BBM or even CM support, because then the ball will be distributed mostly to the AP who sits higher and can make more dangerous passes, but if you for example change AP to attack, then BBM would be good idea. It's all about balance and movement. Try to think where certain players will move on the pitch under given roles.

Ive done my research and it's not a 100% necessity to have full backs do different jobs.

What I have done now...

Gk SK Mignolet
LB Complete WB Jose Enrique
LCB Central Defender Agger
RCB Central Defender Skrtel
RB Complete WB Johnson
LCM BWM Defend Lucas Leiva
RCM BBM Henderson
CAM Gerrard APM attack
LW Coutinho IF support
RW Sturridge IF support
ST Suarez Poacher

Team instructions:
Play out of defence
work ball into box
pass into space
shorter passing
look for overlap
slower tempo
hassle opponents
stay on feet

individual instructions.
Mignolet - pass shorter, distribute to defenders
Jose Enrique - Play Wider, Run wide with ball, shoot less offen
Johnson - same as Enrique
Lucas Leiva - shoot less
henderson - Close down more, more direct passing
Gerrard - close down more, roam position, move into channels, more direct passing
Coutinho - sit narrower, Shoot less offen, roam from position
Sturridge - same as Coutinho

Please anybody let me know if I should tweak this, so far in the PRE season it's working but I'm having at lease 35 shots per game with 12 on target and about an average on 4 chances created per game
