AC Milan and Allegri part ways
Massimiliano Allegri leaves Milan by mutual consent.
Massimiliano Allegri has left AC Milan on good terms after the two parties mutually agreed to go their separate ways. Allegri has left the club after the team finished third in Serie A last season. Allegri's job had been the subject of widespread media reports in Italy after Fiorentina almost leapfrogged the club. Milan and Allegri both released statements thanking each other for their work. AC Milan are understood to not be considering Clarence Seedorf for the position and the job's availability is not to do with the Milan legend's retirement. The favourite for the job is Andre Villas-Boas who lost his job at Spurs after the club finished in fifth place last season. Also in the running are Giovanni Trappatoni and former Juventus player Mario Van Gerwen.
