In the first season playing as Arsenal I did the league and fa cup double( I think that qualifies me to replace Mr. Wenger irl). We won our games but I saw very little creativity from my midfielders. Most of my goals came from crosses into the box, rebounds, or post-corner scrambles. I don't think I can remember any goals that came from a nice pass through the middle or a greatly timed run or a beautiful ball over the top. Everytime one of those passes tried to get played they were snuffed out. My CAMS were Oezil Carzola or Junazaj so I know it wasn't a lack of creativity or vision. I've been playing this game for about five years now so I know my way around a tactics board. I usually play a 4231 wide.
Complete Forward(A or S), CAM- Advanced Playmaker S, LW- IF (A or S), RW-W(A), CMs- RPM+(Ap(s), B2B, Or (DLP(s or d), LB(CWB) RB(FB(s), CBs- CB(d) GK(d)

My TIs were usually short passing(I allowed creative players to try more risky passing), Push Higher Up, Work Ball Into Box

Any advice is welcomed

Please provide screenshots of your tactics or / and even upload the tactic itself so we can have a clear ideea of whats going on.

If you have your game on STEAM, just use the screenshot hotkey, then upload the screens here.

stop
work ball into the box
add
shorter passing
play wider
reduce much higher tempo to higher tempo

If you want a nice through ball or a ball over the top your players won't look to be incisive until they reach the 18 yard box, at which point the opponent will have cover.

well said bro!

you dont want your players to wait till they reach inside the box to create a chance, instead they would look to create a scoring chance when they are attacking the ball.

Work Ball into Box only affects long shots. With the old sliders it lowered them to rarely. Nothing to do with through balls.

Pass into space is the shout that increases through balls.

Attacking is a very direct mentailty so if you want to see shorter passing and team goals choose a lower mentailty. Control with shorter passing would see a better passing stye.

Hi Paulyfiasco :)

I will get straight to the points:

1. What I noticed at first is that you are using too many "play-makers"- (Deep play-maker, roaming play-maker and advanced play-maker).
This makes your team disjointed and players will lack discipline. Also, play-makers hold onto the ball too long and opposition will remain compact and defend well against that.

Solution = If u can manage it, do not even use a play-maker, this way ur team becomes less predictable with their passing.

2. Too many players attacking and supporting, not enough people defending. Defending does allow for attackers to have better cushion when they are up the field and do not have to waste too much energy tracking back. Ur team can push very high up but have defensive mentality (just like Cryuff and Pep does it- their teams are actually very defensive minded and people do not know this, they defend very high. Its all about pushing the team as a whole up the pitch and remain compact).

Your team in this way will be loose, so they can't work together very well.

Solution = make the right back a defensive full back, he will make a back 3 when team attacks

make left back just wing back with attacking duties (he will support left attacker)

the 2 central midfielders- make left midfielder a central midfielder + defensive mentality(shot less, less risky passes, pass short) (he will cover for the left wing back when attacking)
- make right midfielder a central midfielder + support mentality (risky and direct passes)

make advanced play-maker attacking midfielder with support duty (risky passes, direct passes)

make right attacker (Sanchez) an inside forward with support duty.

make left attacker (Draxler) an inside forward with attack duty.

make striker (Ben) an advanced forward who will run onto through passes + move in to channels instruction.

2. Never use a complete forward in your team- this is my secret tip to you. No striker is good enough to be a complete striker in the modern game- I MEAN NONE. Using a complete striker allows for too much creative freedom for the striker and he will become very selfish and only goal oriented and will not work for the team.

3. Your team instructions are too complex. Reduce them to at least 5 and give the players minor instructions.
I notice u want possession and like beautiful goals so use these instructions: lower tempo or much lower tempo, close down more, much higher defensive line, use offside trap, play out of defense.

4. Training should be in Tactical mode (average level so that ur players are happy), and match day training should be attacking (most of the time).

Need more advice...let me know

I think you're about the complete forward. There are many examples of modern day CFs. RVP, Cavani, Benzema are just a few. Thanks for the advice.

Thank you all for the advice. I want to play a high uptempo 4231 like Real Madrid or BvB but still get the nice team goals is that possible?

Of course it is!!!!!!!!!!!

First follow these team instructions:

Push Higher Up
Press higher up
More direct
Higher Tempo
Explout the flanks

your playing romero in wrong role and side. stick him rcm in roaming playmaker.
