Hi. What are important qualities for an assistant coach?
Also, what's the difference between first team coach and just 'coach'? I'm assuming that the former focuses only on the senior squad and just 'coach' trains the under 18 and the reserve squad as well.

Thanks

Adaptability Determination Motivating for your assistant (tactical knowledge is also helpful), and you're right about the coaches.

First Team coach only trains the first team and reserves, whilst Coaches do that and the u18s. If you have a Youth Coach they only work with the u18s as far as I can understand. If you want to have any kind of cheap youth policy/scouting network you need quality coaches assigned to

Often the assistant manager is default for taking the u18s, but you may want to look for a staff member with very high working with youngsters, a modicum of tactics and crucially, a similar playing style to your own. This means youngsters won't get the "is used to playing a ... system" notice in games. Typically the assistant manager doesn't always have these characteristics.
