I have just played my very first "friendly" game with FM2010 and have the following query. I had used most of my substitutes and subsequently a player became injured. The game refused to allow me to play on with 10 players or do anything until I had replaced this injured player. Luckily I had one substitute left - a Goalkeeper so was able to continue with the game with the goalkeeper playing outfield.

So my question is this - will this happen in a normal game when I get to it? Say I use my three subs and then someone gets injured - will I be able to continue playing with just the 10 men as one has to in real life?

No, in the real game you will have to play with 10 men. This happened during a friendly because you are allowed to use 12 Subs rather than the normal 3.

Thanks for replying and assume you are right for the normal games!

Even though it was only a friendly I still think I should have been given a choice as to whether to play the last 10 mins with 10 men or putting the goalkeeper on as an outfield player - however the game did not give me this choice ..... I could not do anything unless I replaced the injured player with the goalkeeper ... bit of a shock really to have a problem crop up so early in beginning FM 2010.
