Installing via Steam or by the other way

I was just wondering which is the best way to install your game, I personally have never used steam and it has caused my game loads of problems with the parsing errors and crash dumps. So has anyone had problems with steam? is it better or worse?

I installed through Steam and haven't had one single problem,i actually prefer it which i never thought i would.

Well iam still getting the crash dumps and im not even using any editor, so i have uninstalled the game and got rid of all the files to do with football manager. I'm now installing the game via steam so fingers crossed.

JP Woody do you have player facepacks and new skins etc added to your game because ihave heard that the player faceopacks and downloaded content can cause your game to form a crash dump.
