Is there any reason to play someone at DCL vs DCR?

is there any difference in the game engine? does the foot they are strongest with have an impact?

does keeping someone at one spot (rather than alternating them between games) have any impact?

if a guy is listed as 'DC/DR' would it make sense to keep him in the DCR position, or would that just encourage him to start playing the DR position and leave position?

If you are using a Ballplaying DC, then I prefer having my leftfooted as DCL etc.
If you are playing against a FCLeft that is right footed, then its better to have a leftfooted DC in the DCr position etc

The player wont move away from his DCr position into DR just because he is famailiar with that position. It just means that he is capable of playing there ( just like a DC/FC, wont drift into the FC position when played as DC)
