Jake's Wonderkid Auction Game

The Proposition

I sent a PM to selected members recently, suggesting an auction game with all the normal rules, the general gist of which is described below.

The major difference in this auction game is that the only players available to bid on will be those with a negative PA; -10, -9 etc etc. In the unlikely event that you don't know much about PA, please click here.
This year there is only one -10 PA player, but a player with a PA of -9 or even -8 still has the potential to be world class.

I propose to run the game over a longer period to allow your wonderchildren to reach their full potential; 10-15 seasons depending on how i feel. I plan to holiday and write up 2 seasons per week.

It's a slightly different twist on the game, and you are going to have to do some research with the editor to succeed. Do you go for early success and buy players with a high CA to start with, or do you play the long game, ignore CA and compile a team bursting with -9 PA beasts? Then there is development to consider, a -8 PA player with a low starting CA could go on to be better than a -9 PA player with a high starting CA, it's all going to be very interesting. Of course there will be the high profile wonderkids that we all know and love, but there is going to be a **** of a lot of undiscovered talent up for auction too.

This is an invite only game and i already have all the participants lined up, any ******** about not being picked or asking to join won't go down too well. I had my reasons for picking the people i did, so please accept that.

Players and Teams

There are 30 participants, meaning i will run 2 divisions.

The setup is as follows:

Premier League (15 teams)
Championship (15 teams)

Auction Cup (30 teams)
Premier League Cup (15 teams)
Championship Cup (15 teams)

I used random selection to place the participants in their respective division, here goes:

Rules

First of all, if you are going to be a jew and drop out, or you won't be on base for a period of time (see Ronan in Duncs draft game for details) then please let me know, and maybe some arrangement can be reached, otherwise you may be removed from the game.

As usual, you have 500 million quid at your disposal, to compile a maximum squad of 21 players.

Bidding will consist of me posting normally:

Per round you can bid on:

1 GK
4 DF
4 MD
3 ST
1 Manager

Each round will last a day or so, with exceptions being weekends and the incoming new year festivities, where updates may be less regular.

It will be the first auction game for some of the participants, those participants can view how auction games work below.

The basic concept of an Auction Game is that a team is given a Budget of £500m to buy 16 players, and a manager. If a player manages to buy 16 players, they will be given 5 back up players of lesser quality than the ones available in the auction. If a team doesn't reach the 16 players, or buys more than 16, they will be given less back up players, one for each player under or over the limit they are, so if you get 14 players, you get 3 back ups. The most players you can sign is 21, but then you will not receive any back up players.

Bidding will consist of me normally posting the following for each round:

Per round you can bid on:

1 Manager

You need to sign one manager, and one manager only. If you don't sign a manager, you will be given a random one of my choice, but they will be nowhere near the standard of managers in the auction. Remember to consider how good your manager is at dealing with youngsters...

After 16 rounds has been concluded, there will be 2 days where people can trade or sell back players. If you wish to sell back a player, you will be given 50% of the value you paid for them, and they will be put back up for auction after these two days, for a further day, for other people to bid on them.

EDIT: Also, not sure if you noticed Jake, but there are two teams called Gladiators.

That was part of the idea, in every normal auction game atm, everyone knows that Messi will cost 100 million+, but with kids, and loads of people bidding, its gonna be very different.
