Jamie Carragher - A Managers Story

The Squad

I've taken over a fully fit squad (yes really, on football manager, have a feeling this might be a glitch?) And they all seem to be really happy here, as you can see there are some big names who have joined on top of Reus and Hummels. Deulofeu and Kovacic are brilliant players, as well as Volland who I actually signed for Tottenham. I've now brought Sturridge in too, and I have a few more bargains up my sleeve.

This lad is the best of the bunch of regens Dortmund have, he has brilliant stats and what looks like an amazing future ahead of him. He made his debut at just 16 and scored in it. He could be a real super sub this season, but he looks like he has better stats than Sturridge already!

End of the road for Navas
View attachment 284321
Jesus Navas has today been released by Borrusia Dortmund. The former Spanish international had spent three years at the German club and has announced his retirement for the end of the season. Newly appointed Dortmund boss Jamie Carragher did not see plans for Navas, 33, and with his high wages of 90,000 a week decided that a termination of his contract was best for the club, and the player who can enjoy one more season of the game somewhere else. There are strong rumours that Carragher will use the Navas' wage to bring in Joe Allen, who has been released by Liverpool. If Allen were to join, he would be joining Daniel Sturride from Liverpool's team.

Transfer Targets

With £48 million to spend, I'm looking to bring a few faces in to improve the squad.

Here are my main targets:

Joe Allen
After being released by Liverpool after my departure, he would fit straight into my team. I can trust him, he fits my system amazingly, and to get him on a bosman would be a real bargain.
View attachment 284287Julian Korb
Another player who I have managed at Liverpool. Korb had a solid first season at Anfield before deciding he wanted to leave as he was behind Jon Flanagan in the pecking order. He's proven in the league and will be available for around £4 million.

The 23 year old explosive winger did not reniew his contract at Spurs after they got relegated, for a free he could be the bargain of the summer. If signed, Maximiliano Arnold would probably be on his way out of the club.

A commanding centre half to pair up with Hummels, he would cost around £30 million, but if I manage to get my other targets for so cheap, I could fund a move for the Brazilian.

Enjoying this! Do you reckon you could show us the regens?

Yeah, most of them are not worth showing, but I will, the young striker looks great though! I'm planning on sending most of them out on loan i think! Thanks for the feedback man, loving your story!

Dortmund sign Allen
View attachment 284102
Jamie Carragher has brought his second ex Liverpool player to Dortmund with him by signing Joe Allen. Allen was regarded very highly by Carragher in his two year spell at Liverpool and was released after his dismissal. Allen will partner up with former team mate Daniel Sturridge too.

I thought the first regen looked great, I didn't even notice this guy in the squad! Look at these stats!! 20 finishing! And look how he did last season for Dortmund, I've just became so excited to play him!

38 goals in 39 games in all competitions at the age of 19! I think I may have the new Pele.

Ok, wow. This story just keeps getting better and better. I'm delighted you rejected Barcelona, also very happy with the Dortmund choice

What a signing. There's a lot more into this than just snapping up a world class player. I was thinking, why do Bayern always have the edge over Dortmund? Even when Dortmund have been playing well and have a settled squad? They buy their best player. So I thought I would do it back. Unless Bayern buy Baez from Liverpool I don't think they will get a better replacement for Alaba.

Awesome - giving Bayern back a bit of their own medicine!! Love it!

Pre Season
View attachment 283998
A very good pre season, I felt the players have adapted quite well to my tactics and my idea of football. It doesn't mean it's the finished article though. I liked what I seen from players already at the club, and a few I had brought in took my eye too. Our first competitive game will be a real test, and a chance to possibly have the fans love me from the start:

Now I'm not going to have the same mentality just yet as I did with the Liverpool squad where I wanted to win everything, because I need to be realistic. This game is still important though, we need to show Bayern today we are ready to fight them.

Hopefully we can change this bar.

I've picked our strongest starting XI today from what I've seen so far. It was a tough choice between Delefeu and Volland, but the Spaniard got the nod.

The teams are out and the game kicks off.

The game was Dortmunds, surely? With only ten minutes to go they found themselves 3-1 up!

But Bayern had other ideas. And clawed a two goal comeback in the last 10 minutes. The third goal coming form a Thiago screamer. The game would go to penalties.

It was Bayern who would be victorious on the night. After beating Dortmund 5-3 on penalties.

What a tough game to take. We battered Bayern, battered them! They shown their real experience today but we can take so many positives out of that game. For 80 minutes we were easily the better team. But football is a 90 minute game. Unfortunately we get the short straw today, but after that performance, I think we could give the league a good go.

New viewer but loving the story. Keep up the great work at Anfield...but you're at Dortmund now lol
